Breaking News - Brett Hocking suspended from Senator Harris' office

Earlier this morning I spoke with Brett Hocking (right in Harris' office).

Last night Hocking was called into Harris' office for an inquisition - Harris making allegations about his performance. Hocking was not allowed to ask questions to clarify the nature of Harris' allegations. Hocking refused to leave the office because Harris denied him natural justice and did not elaborate on the allegation that he was not dealing with constituents correctly.

Harris left after Hocking refused to go because he got not get any answers - Hocking left the office half and hour later.

This morning two armed Australian Protective Service personnel escorted Hocking to his office after he gave up his pass and cleaned out his office he was escorted out of Harris' offices.

Apparently Heather Hill has been dismissed in the wrong way and Harris wanted to make sure that Hocking went the right way - ie by raising dubious allegations as an excuse to terminate Hocking later on.

On Thursday night last week, in Canberra, Harris poured Hocking a glass of red wine and said what a good job he had been doing and that Hocking had integrity.

We will advise as more happens.

It is important to note that Hockings' astounding treatment comes despite his pledge that he was neutral about the move made by the five Queensland One Nation MPs.

Hill fired by Harris, Balson threatened with defamation action by Ettridge, One Nation Queensland registration to be challenged by Manly

Published in the public interest

Yesterday was a day of high drama for Manly - could this be the source of their troubles?

While the Queensland MPs were being accused of "mutiny" by the 2D Factor Heather Hill was being fired by Senator Len Harris because she stood by the political leaders in Queensland and Scott Balson was couriered a letter from David Ettridge's lawyers Watkins, Stokes, Templeton - the lawyers who, according to Ettridge, advised that One Nation's directors not give evidence in the Supreme Court case which led to the deregistration of the party in Queensland.

Ettridge's lawyers letter threatening action:

Image right: Russell Templeton  from Watkins, Stokes, Templeton, speaks to Heather Hill after she loses her High Court challenge - and her Senate seat.

The letter from Ettridge's lawyers is scanned and can be viewed in full at the links below:

The sentence which sticks out to me is the one which reads, "Provide a proposal for compensation for our client for the defamatory imputations or statements already published on the Web Page".

When the party's books for the three entities and associated "businesses" have been properly audited by an independent auditor and a clear cash trail supplied to all members for the missing $5 million that has gone through Manly the questions will stop being asked, But NOT before then.

I wonder who is paying Ettridge's personal legal fees? Ettridge or PHON?

Heather Hill's firing:

Heather Hill was fired at 3.45pm yesterday by Senator Len Harris because she dared support the move by the five Queensland MPs to register One Nation Queensland without the two Davids playing their required role of powerbrokers.

Heather was fired after she told the media that "Oldfield should keep his nose in New South Wales".

Senator Harris told the media, "I am extremely disappointed at what Heather has done."

Guess I will have to add Heather, the 5 MPs and Ian Petersen to the growing list of white ants.

The support for Heather Hill has been extraordinary - see letters below.

Manly to challenge registration of One Nation Queensland:

In further evidence of power-paranoia from Manly the Queensland MPs have been warned that the registration of One Nation Queensland will be challenged in the courts by Pauline Hanson's One Nation Limited - because the new party has not been established in a manner pre-ordained by the 2Ds.

One Nation Queensland's first press release:

Full story on their press conference yesterday - at this link.

Image right: Bill Feldman extends a hand of friendship to "whiteants" Scott Balson and Tony Pitt and welcomes discussions with Australia First's Max Aleckson.

Dear One Nation Member,

We came to a decision on Friday, to lodge a fresh application to re-register One Nation as a separate entity at the State level. That registration was lodged and accepted by the Queensland Electoral Commission on Friday afternoon.

This should not be seen in any way as a move to pre-empt the appeal presently before the court.

It is our belief, however, that as a result of that appeal being deferred until February next year, with the possibility of even further deferment, our position, and that of the hundreds of thousands of Queenslanders who supported us at the state election, becomes more and more vulnerable. With a by- election almost certainly looming, and a very real possibility of an early State election, we face the prospect of entering an election campaign unregistered. This would mean that all candidates, including the five sitting members, would have to stand as independents, as well as reducing our ability to run a strong cohesive campaign as a party. We are not prepared to let that happen, and accordingly, lodged the application to register One Nation Queensland.

The five sitting One Nation members will be the sponsors for the registration, and an interim executive has been elected by the founding committee. The executive comprises the five Members plus:- Executive Director - Ian Petersen, State Secretary - Heather Hill, and State Treasurer - Graeme MacDonald. The position of State President has been reserved for Pauline Hanson. In any event, she is still the National President, and it is our intention that One Nation Queensland would be affiliated with the other State organisations and the Federal body.

Again, I would emphasise, we are not in any way attempting to "pre – judge the judgment". To do so would be improper. Our action is purely to ensure that, if an election is called, we will enter the campaign properly registered, and able to afford the people of Queensland the opportunity of supporting us as they have done in the past.

The policies and philosophies are completely unchanged. The determination to continue the outstanding achievements of our MLAs will not waver. We will be preserving the registration status of a party endorsed by the people of Queensland as the second largest in the State in terms of voter support.

We believe that this will stabilise the situation and will allow us to move forward again with confidence towards the next election.

It is our intention that any member wishing to transfer to the new entity would be able to do so at no cost. Membership application forms will be available shortly.

We welcome any enquires and look forward to working with you to continue the fight to achieve a fairer system of government in our Nation, and to return to a society where respect for traditional values is supported and encouraged.

Yours sincerely,

W.Feldman, P.Prenzler, H.Black, D.Dalgleish, J.Paff, I.Petersen, H.Hill

Oldfield's uncompromising stand:

Oldfield fell on to the old faithful line that he has used just one too many times. "Pauline is absolutely aghast," he said to the media yesterday. "The end result is that they (the 5 MPs) will no longer be One Nation members and will most likely lose their seats at the next election."

When the heat gets to hot in the kitchen Oldfield always falls onto the old "Pauline supports me" statement as the last line of defence. Is Pauline always right?

Oldfield warned that what is left of the 2D party would run candidates against the new party's current members.

Meanwhile Queensland vice-president Alan Doak has warned that the party would strongly object to the Queensland Electoral Commission about the name One Nation Queensland.

Apparently "One Nation" is a trade mark belonging to Pauline Hanson's One Nation Limited (ie Ettridge, Oldfield and Hanson).

'In terms of thinking they can steal the name of the party that put them into office, that is just a nonsense ... all the other political parties will take the same view,' Ettridge told ABC radio.

Great democracy!

Feldman responded to Oldfield's outburst by saying, "Pauline will realise we in no way intended causing a split and that is the way of overcoming our legal problems in Queensland."

Senator Harris, who supports the 2Ds, said, "The thing that they have done that is unforgivable is that they have turned their back on Pauline as being the registered officer of their party."

Email to cost?

CNN has reported that within the next two weeks Congress is going to vote on allowing telephone companies to CHARGE A TOLL FEE for Internet access. Translation: Every time we send a long distance e-mail we will receive a long distance charge. This will get costly. Please visit the following web site and file a complaint to your Congressperson. We can't allow this to pass! The following address will allow you to send an e-mail on this subject DIRECTLY to your Congressperson. http://www.house.gov/writerep http://www.house.gov/writerep Pass this on to your friends. It is urgent! I hope all of you will pass this on to all your friends and family. We should ALL have an interest in this one.

WAIT, THERE'S MORE! IN ADDITION, The last few months have revealed an alarming trend in the Government of the United States attempting to quietly push through legislation that will affect your use of the Internet. Under proposed legislation the U.S. Postal Service will be attempting to bilk email users out of "alternate postage fees". Bill 602P will permit the Federal Govt. to charge a 5 cent surcharge on every email delivered, by billing Internet Service Providers at source. The consumer would then be billed in turn by the ISP. Washington D.C. lawyer Richard Stepp is working without pay to prevent this legislation from becoming law. The U.S. Postal Service is claiming that lost revenue due to the proliferation of e-mail costing nearly $230,000,000 in lost revenue per year. (Oh, isn't that too bad?) You may have noticed their recent ad campaign "There is nothing like a letter".

Since the average citizen received about 10 pieces of email per day in 1998, the cost to the typical individual would be an additional 50 cents per day, or over $180 dollars per year, above and beyond their regular Internet costs. Note that this would be money paid directly to the U.S. Postal Service for a service they do not even provide. The whole point of the Internet is democracy and non-interference. If the federal government is permitted to tamper with our liberties by adding a surcharge to email, who knows where it will end. You are already paying an exorbitant price for snail mail because of bureaucratic inefficiency. It currently takes up to 6 days for a letter to be delivered from New York to Buffalo.

If the U.S. Postal Service is allowed to tinker with email, it will mark the end of the "free" Internet in the United States. One congressman, Tony Schnell (r) has even suggested a "twenty to forty dollar per month surcharge on all Internet service" above and beyond the government's proposed email charges. Note that most of the major newspapers have ignored the story, the only exception being the Washingtonian which called the idea of email surcharge "a useful concept whose time has come" (March 6th, 1999 Editorial). Don't sit by and watch your freedoms erode away!

Send this e-mail to EVERYONE on your list, and tell all your friends and relatives to write to their Congressman and say "No!" to Bill 602P. It will only take a few moments of your time, and could very well be instrumental in killing a bill we don't want. Heather Hill's sacking

I will most probably get flogged for saying this, but what the hell, it has to be said.

If Pauline Hanson allows the sacking of Heather Hill to stand after all Heather has gone through for One Nation, she has lost my respect and my vote. Pauline and Heather were supposed to be close friends, with friends like Pauline who needs enemies.

As for Len Harris, what sort of man, or excuse for a man, would sack the woman who fought so bravely and suffered so much in the name of the party. He was handed her seat in the senate on a platter and yet he still managed to stab her in the back.

Move over Mal Coulston there is a new grub on the block.

Having got that off my chest I now believe, in the light of what has happened today, the Qld "mutineers" should go all the way and start a completely new party. And for God's sake use some imagination and get a new name.

The name One Nation is politically dead and carries too much negative baggage.

I suggest New Nation for the New start of a New party in the New millennium.

Ken Hunter

Heather Hill

Dear Scott,

Please please be assured that -- when I wrote recently, and careful reading of my two messages re the so called confession will confirm it -- I was most supportive of you and always have been.

Therefore, when...

At 05:34 PM 13/12/99 +1000, you wrote:

At 3.45pm today Heather Hill was fired from her position as political adviser to Senator Len Harris by Harris on the instructions of Pauline Hanson's One Nation Limited director, David Oldfield.

This is an amazing, but sad, twist to a party which is corrupt at the top. One Nation members know that Heather was robbed of her Senate position - giving it freely to Harris in good faith.

... again, please be reassured I mean this in your best interests. That is, have you spoken to Senator Harris personally about this as there may be aspects of which you/we are unaware?

Regards,
Barry

Hi Barry

Yes I have spoken to Heather Hill

Editor

Heather Hill

I believe that Heather Hill has done the right thing by backing the push to oust the 2Ds. Pauline Hanson should be in charge of One Nation and it would be preferred if she would get on with the job instead of appearing to be more concerned about her profile.

Pauline should rid herself of yes men and stand on a united front with her supporters who have many ideas that would not appeal to the 2Ds. We, in Australia, are in need of a change and it will not occur unless the PEOPLE are listened to. The ideas of the original One Nation were sound and only needed a polish. People, like the 2Ds, have lost the plot and the concept behind the movement. Senator Harris should look at who placed him in the position he is now in.

Let's rid ourselves of the high profile, selfish image builders and get back to the people of Audtralia who want One Nation to work.

A friend of mine spoke to Pauline one day and told he she needed to apply three simple things to put the party on the pedestal it deserves to be on. They were 1) Have elocution lessons; 2) Get the best speech writer available, no matter what the cost; and 3) Get rid of the yes men.

The potential is there to do it and criticism, by supporters of the party, can only serve to strengthen it.

Good on you Heather I hope you can convince Pauline to follow the trend. Strength is in numbers and her support will ensure the numbers remain with us and not with the 2Ds.

Terry

Heather's dismissal

Hi Scott,

So Heather Hill was sacked on Oldfield's orders. I thought this bastard claimed he has nothing to do with Queensland. What a lying sh-t! How low can this disgusting mongrel stoop.

Ettridge "knew nothing about it" - another bloody liar. He makes it his business to know everything. This gutless weasel will let Oldfield take the wrap alone on this one. What a maggot.

No more scalps under the Manly gestapo's belts. Just who is more important to this Party - 2 proven liars or the hard working members. I cannot understand how anyone can continue to give their support to such evil deceitful creatures. If the actions of the past 3 days don't open up the eyes of everybody, then I feel sorry for their lack of intelligence. I believe the hangers-on deserve to stay on board this sinking ship. Rats and all.

The trouble and disunity the two ex (??) Liberal Davids have caused is a disgrace. If they had a shred of decency they would have stepped down from their self-appointed thrones and let the good people of the party carry on with their jobs in harmony. It is only these two that are systematically destroying One Nation. Those with allegiance to them are to be pitied. The cost of keeping these two on the Executive has now become far too high.

Our dream has become a nightmare. Time to wake up.

Even the biggest fools have some insight. Heather Hill, another white ant because David proclaimed it - yeah right. There can't be too many gullible "yes men" left can there? Surely not. If this latest attack doesn't spell out, loud and clear, what is happening, what the hell will? Or are those preconceived ideas that deeply entrenched?

As for Len Harris, what can one say? A lot was riding on his ability to take on Heather's Senate seat. Courage escaped him on this occasion though. Gestapo indimidation won the day. Yet he was not frightened to speak out against the bully-boys in Parliament. It does not make sense.

I want a David-free New South Wales. Why should Queensland alone have all the luck.

RTW

Heather Hill

Heather keep your chin up and join the fight. I would say there isn't a bigger rat than Len has proved himself to be, you are better off out of his life. At least now we know his price.

Hang in there as there will be a better job for you in the New Revised One Nation. If these rats and their flunkies think we are done for they have no idea of the calibre of True Blue Aussie Battlers.

Barbara.

Heather Hill

Scott,

It looks like David Oldfield will get what he has worked so hard to get - the leadership. Pauline will come back to find there's no place for her apart from One Nation Queensland. What David has not realised yet is that there will be no party left for him to lead.

Robyn M

Heather Hill

Sack Oldfield and Ettridge and bring back Heather Hill.

Get rid of these paranoid tyrants. The great lier Mr Oldfeild has nothing what so ever to do with the Queensland Branch, pull the other one.

This smart boy has the skill of looking after his own interests down to an art form. Get rid of these two before we lose any more good people.

Bob

Money to burn?

Is Manly really going to spend more PHON funds on a court action to try and prevent the Qld MPs from using the name "One Nation"?

Seems to me there is already a precedence: The Australian Labor Party and The Democratic Labor Party.

If it has been decided that the voters can distinguish between these two names, why wouldn't they be able to distinguish between "Pauline Hanson's One Nation and "One Nation Queensland" or "One Nation Australia" or any other version.

Why is Manly so concerned now? They've been quite happy to trade under "Pauline Hanson's One Nation" and use Pauline's reputation and name. In fact they have refused to change it and even tried to have it cemented into the "Constitution".

Personally I'd probably go with "One Nation Australia", at least it sounds like a "fair go" for all Australian's not just those that follow Pauline's,(or the Davids), personal ideals.

Geoff

Pauline Hanson

I think you could almost guarantee that Pauline Hanson will back the two Davids. She has so far on almost everything. She gave legitimacy to their coming into the party with unlimited power. She has backed them every inch of the way. I personally think she has a lot to answer for as far as they are concerned. If Pauline dosen't want the Queensland branch presidency then I don't think you could go past Heather Hill as a candidate for the job.

I'm not trying to put Pauline down, I'm just pointing out some realities.

Chuck (not Hong)

New 2D free party

Hi Scott,

All this talk of forming a new 2D free party is very exciting, I wish it had started sooner.

Seems to me there are 2 options:- A One Nation Reform Party which will be 2D free, and give Pauline Hanson the chance to see the error of her ways and eventually join it. Pauline, it seems still has the media magic and star quality that will be very helpful, if she comes over to the new party. A position could be found for her, similar to a constitutional monarch, who reigns but does not rule.

This depends on former ON people wanting her, of course. Will people consider that Pauline was conned by the 2 Davids, or will they blame Pauline, equally with the 2 Davids for the disaster that has almost completely poisioned One Nation.

The other option is a completely new party,2D and PH free, designed to appeal to all the former ON members, with a charter of genuine democracy and financial responsibility. It could be called something like The Australian Nationalist Party. Seems that the White Ants would make excellent foundation office holders.

Either way, the new party would concentrate on getting candidates into the Federal Senate. With its complicated voting procedure, it favours small parties, the Democrats and Greens have always put their main efforts into the Senate, with much success. If One Nation had put all its efforts and money into a senate, campaign ON would almost certainly control the Senate with the balance of power right now

, .

I suggest the new party should also run candidates for local government council or shire elections. These will keep local branches busy and focused between senate elections. Many politicians have started their career in public life, by serving on their local council. These campaigns can be run quite cheaply.

With help from Scott Balson, the new party could have its own internet site, and also use the net to save money and time on communications. For example, advertising posters, layouts and photos could be available for downloading and printing by branches.

Arthur.

The 5 MPs first mistakes

Scott

I believe it is yet another mistake for the "five" MLA's to try to register One Nation Queensland, for five (5) very important reasons:

(1) The name is too close to "One Nation" for Corporate Affairs to be likely to accept it. Remember One Nation Ltd. is registered as a business name with Corporate Affairs.

(2) The words "One Nation" is trade marked, I understand, by Ettridge. If this is the case, this would not get passed what used to be the Trade Marks and Patents division, now called "IP Australia".

(3) The name "One Nation" has now got a stigma about it that will not easily go away. There will be endless bickering, court cases, and legal argument, with the result that hardly anyone will vote for them at election time.

(4) The Queensland five MLA's have said that they still want to stay "loyal" to Pauline Hanson. Why? Loyal to what? The woman is a walking disaster, the way she is sticking to those two Manly ferals. She has become an albatross around the neck of any political party. I am also surprised at Len Harris' stand.

(5) There does exist the distinct possibility that the Troika - D,D, and PH, will be charged with fraudently registering a political party. This constitutes a criminal offense. Enough said.

If the five want to do something constructive, they should find another name - a cleanskin.

Brian McDermott

Ian Nelson responds

G'day Scott,

Firstly Scott I was the last person to find out what was going on on Sunday, and I have to tell you I was very disapointed, never mind.

To you detractors, firstly Geoff, sorry, don't know your last name,

believe me sir I do not walk around with blinkers on, why on earth do you think I joined Pauline Hanson's One Nation. And what may I ask is wrong with pleading for unity in a political party? You people seem to be the only ones that take offence to unity, but most of us will remain unified in this mamoth struggle.

My how you lot have lost the plot !

I am glad to see that you are waiting to see all this irrefutable evidence against David Ettridge, but Geoff, don't hold your breath.

Your last question sir is a doozee !

As to "who caused a front page stoush, just before an election, by calling members/ elected candidates, (drug users, and crazy), ?"

To be fair to David Oldfield, what he did say during a phone call while on campaign in regional NSW with Pauline, and in shock was, "are you people on drugs ?"

Has it ever occured to you Geoff that the timing of that threatened walk out of the parliamentarians here in Queensland was absolutely and strategically timed to have the maximum damage effected on David Oldfield and all candidates of Pauline Hanson's One Nation in NSW to further erode the integrity of Manly, Administration and David Ettridge.

But that's not all. Do you know that the few people who were able to influence those parliamentarians, have done it again, and yes I do know who is responsible, and you will be the first to know when I have the "irrefutable evidence", coming soon. Oh ! by the way Geoff, do you also realise that the last time these people mutineered was when Pauline was away, and guess what, they have done it again ! Brave little vegemites, aren't they. Well I guess your perception of my journalism isn't good, but maybe it's because I say things you don't want to here !

To Cyril Ryder

I have attended many meetings and I have to tell you Cyril, I was indeed able to vote, and yes my vote was counted. I really don't know where you get this garbage.

As I told Geoff, I don't have blinkers on, and I certainly don't have my head in the sand, and this hysterical rubbish about not being game to sign your name is just that. You signed yours, they are just more comfortable being unanimous, I call it something else.

And if you want to meet me some day you will find out that I certainly don't lick boots ! Not even senior officers boots when I was a nasho'. Just because I see differently to you people, I am bad at what I do, I lick boots, I have my head in the sand, I have blinkers on and I am biased. You get the picture ! And that goes to every one that doesn't agree with you lot, you start with your character assassinations, you all hone in, in concert as if it were rehearsed, but then you peoples' agenda has been very well rehearsed, tell me I am wrong.

Ken Hunter,

glad to see you out of your closet. Tell you what Ken, the way you started your letter last night was pretty general, let's get specific.

Here are a few of the "code of ehtics" from Aust. Journalist Assoc'

1/ Report and interpret honestly, striving for accuracy, fairness and disclosure of all essential facts. Do not suppress revelant available facts, nor give distorting emphasis.

2/ Make efforts to give the subject of any damaging report an opportunity to comment, preferably in that same report.

3/ Urge the fair correction of errors.

4/ Use fair and honest means to obtain material. Avoid misrepresentation.

The document goes on, but we know that journalist in Australia do not really take this MEAA Code of Ethics seriously. There is also something about "Quote only what is said or written" but here in ANOTD anything goes !

The document has 20 such items of wisdom. So don't you start your self righteous, self serving garbage on me. I will tell you Ken Hunter, you have been one of subversives from way back, I have been watching you on this site.

If you honestly think that I am going to waste my time on your filthy agenda of character assasination on anyone you really don't know me. And stop treating all readers like fools. You are quite a vicious man, you are a danger to all, you sir infect the "body politic".

The only thing I do for Pauline Hanson's One Nation as far as investigative journalism is concerned is investigate our treacherous politicians, the laboral globalist harlets and political sluts, and watch in dismay as we lose our nation to these people. And people like you, your stuffing around trying to destroy a movement that is Australias only hope !

Ian J Nelson

Total control

The total-control-freak Mr Oldfield, is the only person who can talk with Pauline Hanson at the moment. He alone, will tell her how to think. Well I think she needs the protection consumers have against door to door salesman where, quite often, the poor house wife can't say no to a slick, pushy salesman but is protected by a cooling off period. This guy is one very pushy control freak who must always have his way. I think Pauline has got herself into something with the 2D's that is going to be very hard to get out of, if not impossible. I don't know what the deep dark secrets are inside the incorporated One Nation, but if they are not on the up and up and she is part of it, then she will be with them to the end.

When things are not transparent, doubts often spring up, they shouldn't and wouldn't if all the cards were on the table.

Something is wrong at Manly and you don't have to be clairvoyant to see it.

Bill Williams

Unity

See what happens Mr Oldfield and Mr Ettridge when you get large numbers of people offside, sack others and con the rest of us into some support movement. The funny thing is you are always calling for unity but your actions are always causing dis-unity. It must be the Liberal double talk you learnt before you joined us, say one thing do another. Politicians are like that.

We must all surely be on drugs or be white ants. Could this be a plot from the outside or from big business? Actually it is none of these things, the membership is waking up. Unfortunately, we had to learn the hard way not be naive and too trusting. Unity, when it is enforced by threat or fear is not worth having.

The unity we all want is one of co-operation, trust, friendship, inclusiveness,

accountability, the right to differ. Unity so far has only been used to silence dissenters when they see something wrong.

The party is going to be cleansed and we will be the better for it.

Kevin

Openness

There is only one party that is worth supporting and that is whoever promotes _TOTAL_ openess in all matters, that there are no closed doors on any decisions and all actions are 100% accountable to members and the general public.

No ifs, no buts... total openess and transparency.

For goodness sake, will someone please start a party like this !

--markc

Deception

Hi Scott,

When I joined One Nation I firmly believed I was joining a political party. I did not know I was joining a separate support movement. How could I know if I wasn't told. Everyone else I've spoken to was of the same understanding.

There are laws in the corporate world regarding misleading or false advertising. I believe the membership application form at the time falls into this category.

I think, we the members, would have no trouble at all taking on Manly with a class action against this kind of clever deception.

R Jones

Dictatorship

Can anyone tell us the reason Pauline Hanson One Nation was formed? Was it to grab power permanently so that the big three could be entrenched for life. Unanswerable to anyone.

Who checked out the credentials and background of David Ettridge or David Oldfield when they came directly to us from the Liberal party. Or did we take them at their word accepting what good fellas they were without any checking into their background or speaking to people who knew them or of them. I think I know the answer. Don't you?

In this day and age you can't even get a job at a supermarket checkout without a CV as long as your arm and waiting in a queue of a hundred people just for an interview.

These two Davids walk straight in take over, no questions asked and anyone who does is gotten rid of. What sort of idiotic organisation puts up with that, it defies belief.

I hope Pauline Hanson is only guilty of a silly mistake and not collusion.

This is a time for reform let this be a valuable lesson never to be repeated.

Reg

Dubbo meeting

Re the ballot regarding John Karnau was it a show of hands or a secret ballot. If it was a show of hands can someone let us know which RVP's voted which way. Also can someone let us have the minutes of the meeting. I can assure the RVP's they will be held accountable for the stand they took.

Oldfield next time you're a candidate at an election do you think people will vote for you just because your running for One Nation. Think again mate your on the nose.

Len Harris I've been impressed with you up until now. I am not impressed with you sacking Heather Hill. I don't think I would be Robinson Crusoe in that regard. Be careful Len where you're standing politics is a tricky business.

Rob Younger

Oldfield

Has Mr Oldfield gone feral against One Nation airing our dirty linen in public on channel nine. What happened to party unity? His actions are certainly the signs of a white ant. Is this bucket mouth on drugs? Is he the only person who knows how to contact Pauline Hanson in America? If so, there is something very wrong.

What democratic process was used to come up with David Oldfield as our candidate for the NSW Upper House in the last state elections?

Who OK'd the large amount spent on the campaign getting David elected? Was it David, if so, how fair is it when other states ask for campaign funds and be told by the same people there are no funds. Do you think these soughts of double standards lead to harmony and unity?

What is our financial position at the moment? Is this yet another secret. Have we the money to fight over a name in the courts. Have we the right to know anything.

PJN

Nationalist agitators as professional revolutionaries

A recent mini-series on ABC-TV('The War of the Flea') contained an interview with a Mujahadeen commander in Afghanistan. He stated that his followers had intensively studied the works of professional revolutionaries like: Che Guevera, Mao Tse Tung and V I Lenin. After first jettisoning the Marxist rhetoric and ideological baggage that went along with these writings, the ideas and advice contained therein were adapted by the Mujahadeen as per the local situation and used with devastating effect against the Russians(ironic!)

One of the injunctions that stuck in my mind was: 'the resistance should move among the people like a fish through water' The nationalist movement in Oz(which encompasses all those anti-Laborals supporting Independents, One Nation/ex-One Nation MPs and perhaps even a few Nationals, Democrats and Greens) would be well advised to heed such counsel.

Bearing that in mind, consider this quote from V I Lenin's 'What is to be Done'. First, substitute conservative Think Tanks like TIAF for 'the twelve wise men', nationalist agitators for 'professional revolutionaries'[notwithstanding the possibility that such agitators _may well_ qualify as 'revolutionaries' in the not too distant future!] and the 1-2 million strong nationalist support base for 'the masses' (which, hopefully, will only increase and encompass many spectrums of society...from blue collar to middle class!):

" 'A dozen wise men can be more easily wiped out than a hundred fools' This wonderful truth(for which the hundred fools will always applaud you) appears obvious only because in the very midst of the argument, you have skipped from one question to another. You began by talking, and continued to talk, of a 'committee', of the unearthing of an organisation', and now you skip to the question of unearthing the movement's 'roots' in their 'depths'. The fact is, of course, that our movement cannot be unearthed, for the very reason that it has countless thousands of roots deep down among the masses; but that is not the point at issue. As far as 'deep roots' are concerned, we cannot be 'unearthed', even now, despite all our amateurism, and yet we all complain, and cannot but complain, that the 'organisations' are being unearthed and as a result it is impossible to maintain continuity in the movement. But since you raise the question of organisations being unearthed, and persist in your opinion, I assert that it is far more difficult to unearth a dozen wise men than a hundred fools. This position I will defend, no matter how much you instigate the masses against me for my 'anti-democratic' views &c As I have stated repeatedly, by 'wise men', in connection with organisation, I mean 'professional revolutionaries', irrespective of whether they have developed from among the students or working men. I assert:

['What is to be Done' by V I Lenin; The Selected Works, vlm I, pp 199-200; Progress Publishers, 1967, originally: 1902]

Elsewhere, Lenin claims that inner turmoil and upheaval within a revolutionary political party is not necessarily a bad thing: as it indicates a healthy stage of evolution into a more vibrant and cohesive entity. Witness the destruction wreaked on an apparently stable and united political party(the Liberals) at numerous elections/by-elections recently. Their apparent stability and unity in reality masked a situation of inner rotteness and stagnation: and party apparatchiks wildly out-of-touch with the common people. How many Liberals did you see doing continuous grass-roots campaigning? Instead, they courted the multi-nationals for donations and advice. Guess thatz come back and bit 'em in the ass at the Ballot Box!

ALP Bogus How To Vote Cards

Those bogus how to vote cards ( courtesy of the ALP ) shouldn't be around at the next election. Here's what Beattie had to say about his own party's tactics.

Premier, HON. PETER BEATTIE
6/12/99

GOVT TO LEGISLATE ON HOW TO VOTE CARDS

Charters Towers - The Beattie Labor Government will legislate to end any possible confusion for Queensland voters over how to vote cards, Premier Peter Beattie announced today.

Speaking after the Charters Towers Cabinet meeting, Mr Beattie said the reforms meant more and better information would be made available to voters.

This was in line with recommendations from the Court of Disputed Returns' suggestions after the challenge to the Mansfield result at the last State election.

"State Cabinet has given authority to prepare legislation which will largely reflect Court of Disputed Returns' suggestions and the recommendations of the all-party Legal, Constitutional and Administrative Review Committee, which also examined this issue," Mr Beattie said.

"The day after Justice Mackenzie handed down the Court of Disputed Returns' decision on the Mansfield challenge, the Attorney-General referred the court's recommendations to LCARC to consider, which was the fairest way of dealing with these matters.

"We have now moved quickly to ensure the issue is resolved."

Attorney-General Matt Foley said amendments would be made to the Electoral Act and the Local Government Act to regulate how to vote cards and in relation to challenges to election results.

"Justice Mackenzie identified possible reforms to how vote cards concerning second preferences and he also referred to the current inability of a petitioner to the Court of Disputed Returns to appeal its decision," Mr Foley said.

"This legislation will address those problems."

The main changes will involve:

"Contention over how to vote cards, particularly second preference cards, has become an issue of concern for Queensland voters in recent years," Mr Beattie said. "My government promised to lift the standard of politics in Queensland and this is proof of our determination to deliver."

Remuneration tribunal

Dear Scott,

The Remuneration Tribunal reasons that politicians wages should be linked to "general price and wage movements", and John Howard shares common ground with the tribunal when he "justifies" the increase by comparing politicians with Australia's top corporate executives.

I however, see no such comparison.

The last time I looked, Westfield, Coles Myer, Rio Tinto, Macquarie Bank etc were all doing very nicely thank you, and, they were all well and truly in the black!

Not so the Nation of Australia John, I see economic failures and red ink everywhere I look.

If your wages were productivity based, then every quarter that the foreign debt climbs, your wages would be reduced; likewise every quarter that records a balance of trade loss, I would reduce your pay further.

And every time an Australian owned Icon is sold off to Foreign Investment, you should incur a percentage reduction in your superannuation.

In fact, if Politicians were accountable to the shareholders for the economic indicators of the Nation as would occur in private enterprise, you would be all eligible for a DCM award, which of course is the acronym for Don't Come Monday!

Millennium

Scott, most historians and including the PM , Astronomer Arthur C. Clarke, and 2million of us listeners to Macca on Australia all over, (ABC) all acknowledge that the 21st century and the third millennium begin on Jan 1st, 2001.

Why are you with the greedy multinationals on this, who want the profit with a big lie this year?

Philip Madsen.

from the global office:

Another perfect day in paradise.

Have a good one.
