In 1989
Interactive
Presentations Pty Ltd pioneered computer based marketing in Australia.
It was a bold step for a one man show which started in a toolshed in a suburban
house in the Padbury suburb of Perth.
In October 1994 Global Web Builders built the original
Global Info-Links web
site after being project co-ordinators up to its December 8th
1994, launch.
In March 1995 the
1995 Indy
Carnival was covered live with minute by minute up dates in the
media centre at the Gold Coast track by Global Web Builders. In its time
this was a world first.
In June 1995 Global Web Builders released its corporate
window The
Definitive Lifestyle Guide to Australian Webs (DLG) onto the Internet.
Within months the DLG had been recognised as a
"cool site" around
the world and is today the major gateway to Australia on the Internet.
The success of the DLG led to the formation of a
multinational web building group,
GLOBE
International which now boasts enterprises in
New Zealand and
GLOBE South Africa
with a number of other countries currently under development.
In October 1995
The Australian
News of the Day was launched.
The archive of old news
carries a wealth of information all taken from an Aussies perspective, sections
include the controversial "Gripe of the Day".
In December 1995 GWB released
The Kids Locker
Room.
In January 1996 five year old Alex Balson was launched
onto the web with
Koala
trouble - a site that gained instant international acclaim. With
thousands of email messages being received monthly from around the world.
Alex's business,
Alex's
Scribbles was launched in April with the first product off the
production line being a t-shirt.
In February 1996 we released the
Worldcare Assistance
Services commercial site. Good news and good value for anyone
requiring insurance and roadside assistance cover.
In April 1996 GWB developed our second Japanese Web
for
Triumph
International, Japan.
In April 1996 GWB developed more event based web sites
for the 1996 RAAF
Air Show - commemorating the 75th anniversaryof the RAAF and the
biggest air show to be held in Australia.
The RAAF show was cancelled because of flooding so we found ourselves cut-off on the island of Karana Downs covering the 1996 Floods instead.
The
TOCA Super Touring Car
Australia site was released in early May, following the enormous
success of the 1995 Indy
Carnival web site.
The
Ads On-Line
site was released in early June, taking on the might of News Limited... and
winning for sheer innovation.
In August 1996 up went the
Greg
Chappell Cricket Centre web site. The most comprehensive product
guide for cricketers on-line. Check it out!
In September 1996 GWB posted a web site on the
Trade
tokens of Strachan and Co. a fascinating site arguing that these
tokens, researched extensively by Scott Balson in the early 1980s, are South
Africa's forgotten currency.
In October 1996 the Queensland Government Department
of Primary Industry's
Queensland Horticultural
Export Council website was posted on the net.
In November 1996 GWB's new business, World Wide
Websters, released the
Genie and the World
Wide Websters. An innovative concept new to the Internet based
on relationship marketing.
In December 1996 the Au$520 million
South East
Transit Project. A major government initiative aimed at freeing
up the traffic congestion between the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
In January 1997 the World Wide Webstersmet
the Queensland
Ambulance Service. The web site, developed by GWB, includes the
reproduction of the service's First Aid Manual.
In January 1997 Scott Balson's presentation on
On-Line Relationship
Marketing at a Global Info-Links seminar created an immediate
flurry of invitation to make the presentation at a number of conferences
including one to over 1,000 business people responding to an article in the
weekly Business Queensland paper.
In March 1997
Computer Gym
went on-line. A fabulous and fun site all about the fast expanding computer
education service which currently boasts a network of franchises in Australia
and the United Kingdom. The company won the Australian and New Zealand
"Franchisee of the Year" award in 1996.
On the 12th April 1997 the
Launch
of Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party was covered by Global Web
Builders.
"The board found that you were the most deserving site of the award, not only of the week, but of the history of the award. You non-emotional coverage of the truth was brillant. We only ask that you inform us of all future work. Keep up the excellent work" - statement by the Australian Conservative Party board on presenting this site with the "award of the week".

strings of an expose of the Australian Labor Party and Australia's
mainstream media.

- resulting in Pauline Hanson being able to expose the greed of multinationals
to the Australian public.
