Native title, freehold, Beazley and Pearson.

When Kim Beazley and Noel Pearson claim that freehold extinguishes Native Title Australians have every reason to not trust them. Coincidently these are the same individuals who, early in the 90s, claimed that the ALP's agreement with aboriginal elders extinguished Native Title on pastoral leases.

We now have the story of Kippa Ring and the "Bora Ring".

Quote:

"When Noel Pearson and Kim Beazley say that freehold land is safe in Australia they are lying.

"Not only are they lying but they know that they are lying.

"They are blatantly deceiving an ignorant Australian population who are closeted by the mainstream media. Closeted  or kept in the dark to protect the undemocratic ongoing alliance between the media moguls and the mainstream political parties.

"What makes the case we will use to prove this point worse is that the developers owning the freehold were given two options either accept the offer by the Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC) or be taken, with tax payers money, through every court in the land. Of course the developers agreed to part with the land. Now let us remember we are talking about FREEHOLD land here. Yes, that's right, FREEHOLD land, not pastoral or mining leases plain, simple, FREEHOLD land."

ALP to Noel Pearson - we don't want you!

Pearson put his hand up on Monday saying that he would run as an ALP candidate in the next federal election if there was a double dissolution.

Now it appears that his plans have come unstuck with ALP leader Kim Beazley saying that the selection process in the party has already been completed.

It is now clear that Pearson is not even a member of the ALP and his statement came with no sanction from the party.

"I think his declaration that he was interested has less to do with a profound conviction that he wanted to run for Parliament and more with a serious concern about the direction the Prime Minister is taking this country," Beazley said.

Pearson cancelled a press meeting at which he was expected to make a statement on his decision.

Australian tax payers lose Au$5 billion in Telstra sale

Australian taxpayers owned Telstra until the sale of one third of the company earlier this year. The sale valued Telstra at Au$42.9 billion.

Since the sale of one third of Telstra just weeks ago the price of shares has risen 50% valuing the company at nearly Au$59 billion. One third of Au$16 billion - a touch over Au$5 billion - a direct loss in asset value to Australians - who owned the company.

A large percentage of that profit being made by overseas investors at our expense.

Aboriginal Reconciliation Council (ARC) shake-up

The changing guard of the ARC continues unabated.

Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) president Jenny George is the latest to leave the committee saying, "In my view I was unable to continue in all conscience in light of the Government's lack of commitment to reconciliation as witnessed by the ten point plan and its unwillingness to apologise to the stolen children."

Ray Martin has decided to stay on after threatening to resign after Pat Dodson left the chair - this is not the first time the TV host has threatened to leave - perhaps he should!

The Government's new representative on ARC is Victorian federal MP Sharman Stone who will replace Peter Nugent. Mrs Stone has considerable academic background in Aboriginal issues.

Two other council members expected to be dumped are former National Farmers Federation president Nick Farley and Linda Burney.

Subject: MAI

In Brian Wilshire's preamble prior to his interview on Sydney's 2GB last night (Monday 15th December) with Pauline Hanson he mentioned a front page story in the "Australian" claiming that the MAI has been signed.

Headline read something like "Global deal opens door to trade". What sort of idiots are these people. Keep up the good work and have a Merry Christmas.

Mr. Ted Mathews, last surviving member of the gallant force that stormed the beaches of Galipolli at dawn on April 25th, 1914 is laid to rest today.

Let us not glorify war but let us glorify those who laid down their lives in the hope that we may never know the horrors that war inflicts.

Subject: The New Labor

Date: Tue, 16 Dec 1997 08:27:53 +1100 Dear Sir, I note that Noel Pearson has stated that if Australia goes to a Federal election over Wik then he will consider standing as a candidate. "Naturally it would be for the Labor Party" said Pearson.

He hasn't decided which seat he will seek pre-selection for as yet. Not like the old days of Labor where you rose to the top through the trade union movement after serving a very long apprenticeship. I am not sure whether this is a done deal or whether the ALP just learned about it from this morning's news as I did, but either way what a boon to Labor. Gone will be the days of exchanging political favours for campaign funds with nasty big business men in dingy back rooms.

Should Pearson be victorious in pre-selection then New Labor's financial woes will be a thing of the past. At best New Labor will qualify for direct ATSIC funding or as a fall back they will have access to the many billions of Australian taxpayer's dollars that have been paid into the "Aboriginal Industry" but have never found their mark. It is important here to note that to date this funding has only served to make wealthy lawyers wealthier, greedy lawyers greedier, corrupt lawyers more corrupt, white apologists greedy and wealthy, black leaders wealthy and Aboriginal spokesmen whiter. Not one thing has been done to improve the lot of "ordinary Australian Aborigines". ALL the people, black or white, working in the Aboriginal Industry have a vested interest in keeping Aboriginals on the bottom of the heap. If you solve the problem, which would be easy for honest people to do given the available funding, then you remove the tools, the weapons that these blood sucking leeches of leaders use to extort billions from the Taxpayer's pockets. Guilt is a powerful tool. I digress. Back to New Labor. What a team ! Darn... now I 'll have to expand the ministry to accommodate The Right Honourable Noel Pearson. I've got it.... Minister for Guilt and Extortion or perhaps Minister for ill-Gotten Gains, no....Minister for Racial War. Which one would you like Noel? Allan W. Doak

Subject: The New Labor Party

Dear sir,

Everything is going to be all right now. For those of you who were worried about the future of our country, let me assure you that things are going to be fixed up. Thanks in no small part to New Labor with the fair Saint Cheryl of Dixon at the helm. So fervently have Australians embraced C.K. that even the one of the larger churches have renamed one of their icons, Cheryl and Child.

Down here at the "Conspiracy Theory" nerve centre we have mysteriously received a top secret document that unashamedly reveals the make up of the New Look, New Labor Cabinet.

We issue a warning to those daring to read this report, that should you at any time during the reading experience any feeling of deja vu then it most likely is.

Only the names have been included to expose the guilty. This is the team :

For those true believers who may feel that the Divine Ms. K may have bitten off more than she can chew, just remember that Saint Cheryl is very well experienced at handling more that one affair at a time. If any parent’s are concerned that their sons are not getting a complete education, just relax, because if Dear Cheryl is unsuccessful in her bid to achieve the top job she may just take up teaching again in a school or a field near you.

Now don’t you all feel a little easier about the future?

Subject: SANTA CLAUS: An Engineer's Perspective

*** SANTA CLAUS: An Engineer's Perspective ***.

I) There are approximately two billion children (persons under 18) in the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish or Buddhist religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the Population Reference Bureau). At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per house hold, that comes to 108 million homes, presuming that there is at least one good child in each.

II) Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 967.7 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with a good child, Santa has around 1/1000th of a second to park the sleigh, hop out, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left for him, get back up the chimney, jump into the sleigh and get on to the next house. Assuming that each of these 108 million stops is evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be false, but will accept for the purposes of our calculations), we are now talking about 0.78 miles per household; a total trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting bathroom stops or breaks. This means Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second --- 3,000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man-made vehicle, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a poky 27.4 miles per second, and a conventional reindeer can run (at best) 15 miles per hour.

III) The payload of the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium sized Lego set (two pounds), the sleigh is carrying over 500 thousand tons, not counting Santa himself. On land, a conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting that the "flying" reindeer could pull ten times the normal amount, the job can't be done with eight or even nine of them --- Santa would need 360,000 of them. This increases the payload, not counting the weight of the sleigh, another 54,000 tons, or roughly seven times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth (the ship, not the monarch).

IV) 600,000 tons travelling at 650 miles per second crates enormous air resistance --- this would heat up the reindeer in the same fashion as a spacecraft re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer would absorb 14.3 quintillion joules of energy per second each. In short, they would burst into flames almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them and creating deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer team would be vaporised within 4.26 thousandths of a second, or right about the time Santa reached the fifth house on his trip. Not that it matters, however, since Santa, as a result of accelerating from a dead stop to 650 m.p.s. in .001 seconds, would be subjected to centrifugal forces of 17,500 g's. A 250 pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of the sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force, instantly crushing his bones and organs and reducing him to a quivering blob of pink goo. V. Therefore, if Santa did exist, he's certainly dead now.

Merry Christmas!

Shane Warne storms out of wax model launch

Shane Warne hit the headlines today after he stormed out of his own media launch when a reporter asked him "Which figure do you prefer?"

Warne was measured for the wax model some six months ago when Warne was about 6 kilogrammes lighter than he is today.

Warne was so incensed by the reporters remark that he said, "That's enough I'm not taking any more questions from you blokes," storming off the stage and leaving the assembled reporters to ask the remaining wax model questions - but it wasn't talking.

Social:

A recent report has shown that nine out of ten violent crimes are by young men against men. The report by the Australian Bureau of Statistics "Youth Australia: A Social Report" states that there are nearly 2.7 million Australians aged between 15 and 24 years as of June 30 this year.

The report says that three times as many men than women died by suicide last year with poisoning and violence accounting for 76% of young male deaths and 56% of young female deaths.

The report's author Dr Murkherjee said the average age of criminal offenders has risen from 29 years (in 1985) to 32 years.

Most important social issues for those in the 18-24 year old age bracket:

ISSUE MALE (%) FEMALE (%)
Unemployment 24.9 19.3
