Pauline Hanson on crime and punishment

Even the most ardent critic of the Independent Member for Oxley, Pauline Hanson, must admire her resolve and determination demonstrated by appearing in an hour long Channel 9 special shown last night on the controversial issue of crime and punishment.

The mealie mouth of Democrat Senator Stott-Depoja would not be drawn into this politically incorrect topic, the issue would have been below the profile of the leaders of the major parties and the issue was politically dangerous for the rest of our so-called representatives of the people.

Pauline Hanson, the face of the ordinary Australian, was the only Parliamentarian from the upper or lower house to have the guts to be there with victims and criminals. A show which was filmed in the old Pentridge prison with participants sitting on plastic chairs in a large cement floored room surrounded by bars and facing the room in which people were hanged before the abolition of the death penalty.

Pauline Hanson listened most of the time, but when she spoke in an audience which could hardly be called sympathetic to her views she, typically, received support from the victims and derision from the ex-criminal participants and do-gooders.

Personally I found the show to be a bit of a fizzer as the presenter Ray Martin struggled to pick up on any theme and lack-lustre comments by many of those who had been victims were brightened up with a bit of high tech profiling on the background to the experiences of the victims by cuts from the court case or related film footage.

Senate's Wik amendment trigger for double dissolution

Last night the Australian Labor Party voted with the Government on one key clause in the Wik Bill while putting through an amendment on another through the support Independent, Brian Harradine.

The clause supported related to the Government's demand that tougher rules apply with respect to Aboriginal native title claims. Labor Senator Nick Bolkus said that their support was procedural and would allow Labor Senators to vote in favour of another amendment which would be attached to the government clause.

The amendment moved by Brian Harradine allowed Aborigines more latitude in qualifying native title claims. The Harradine amendment was, however defeated with Bolkus saying, "At some stage difficult decisions are made by all of us."

The key clause added through the coalition of independents, the ALP and the Democrats required that the Wik Bill be subject to the Racial Discrimination ACT (RDA). The final vote was 31-32 with Mal Colston voting for the Coalition Senators - resulting in one excusing himself from the voting process.

The Special Minister for State, Nick Minchin, said that the clause was unacceptable, saying, "The amendments presented to the Government on the RDA are not able to be supported by the Government."

Growth in One Nation Party

I was very fortunate to meet Pauline in person on 14th February 98 in Gawler. It was fantastic. I was so overwhelmed and exited to meet her. Our branch members are still talking about her visit.

Our branch has gone from a starting membership of 7 in October 97 to over 120 in April 98.

We are looking forward to the election (whenever it is called) so we can show Mr Howard and the other money sucking leeches just what the people of this country really want. A government which is accountable to the people and a country that would be able to hold its head high. We need leadership at the top. One that we can trust and believe in. One that we know will be fair and just.

Well I could go on for hours, but I won't. I really believe in what Pauline Hanson stands for and I look forward to meeting her again. Thank you Deb Hooper

Scott, Hi,

Great to see the story on toowoomba, a huge moment in Aust politics...totally suppressed by the puppet masters. Its a microsome of the media generally ,isnt it . Just keep em in the dark,..we dont want any of this getting out!

I read an article in the West Australian today..6/4...re the UN conference about water Starts...the planet is drying up ...quotes various reports from the un..about "water Wars" the same stuff you published a week ago..........except ...they omitted to make even the merest mention of the call to start charging for our present "FREE" water, or that it was now to be regarded as a global commodity..........

Now why would they omit such shattering news??

The article goes on and arrives at the conclusion that the only hope for the world is for science to develop a new strain of ...low water requirement rice, that also produces a lot more rice grains per plant....and shucks ..well that is a pretty tall order......what are we going to do about this looming tragedy???

Not the slightest mention of the UN's own solution to the problem......start charging the rich nations...us....to subsidise 3rd world water supplies! That will no doubt only get thrown up as a solution when the readers of the west Australian have digested this latest looming world crisis and have been softened up to get used to the idea of paying for what now falls by the grace of god.

Wait till this one gets out!!

Scott ..my eyes have been opened to the manipulation and duplicity that goes on in our so called free and open society.....and it is making me realise how important it is that there are people and movements like Pauline Hanson and the One Nation party ,who actually have the interests of we, the people, closest to their hearts. The major parties and big business ,the media and powerful individuals care only for their own perpetuity, to them we are fodder for the mills! We really have only one choice ...and that is to stand up at the ballot box and reject this domination of our lives . One Nation is absolutely definitely way outside the cosy little circle of powerbrokers who run things at the moment. It survives on the one fact of its relevance to the people and fortunately, that is all it needs. That is all it should be too, it is a beautifully simple fact of democracy, that if many people want the same thing, it will happen! No government or power clique on earth can resist the will of the people for ever!

Subject: Crime & Punishment

I've just watched the Ray Martin Show on Crime and Punishment and as usual the debate lost the plot because all the do gooders have only the rights and needs of the criminal at heart and to hell with the victims!!!!!!

There will never be any justice in sentencing until there is truth in sentencing but better still, the punishment must fit the crime and lately this has not been the case especially in the cases of child abuse, murder and rape.

Until the punishment fits the crime and to hell with rehabilitation for these crimes they will continue to increase in our community.

The people who commit these inhuman crimes, forfeit their right to rehabilitation and release back into society only to terrorise some other innocent person, and by the same token, WHY SHOULD WE THE TAX PAYERS HAVE TO SUPPORT THESE SCUM AT A COST $50,000 A YEAR, IN FACT THE AMOUNT IS PROBABLY WELL IN EXCESS OF THAT FIGURE WHEN COSTS LIKE REHABILITATION ARE ADDED, not to mention the cost of apprehension when they have to be rounded up when they reoffend.

If the doogooders can't cope with execution then lets think about Transportation. Let's consider such a thing as a "WORLD PRISON" to hold all of these SCUM, established in an inhospitable isolated place like Siberia where escape meant certain death. This would eliminate the need for high security and reduces the cost. All that would be required would be Armed Guards who shoot to kill. I'm sure that anyone lucky enough to return from a place like that would think twice at the prospect of a return visit.

Please keep up the good fight,

Yours Sincerely

Errol L. Ardron
