Pauline Hanson's One Nation Official home page.

International:

Yesterday Pauline Hanson launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister John Howard blaming him and opposition leader Kim Beazley for legitimising the criminal and undemocratic actions of the protesters who have, at times, successfully disrupted One Nation meetings.

Both Howard and Beazley rejected Hanson's claims.

Mr Howard yesterday defended Ms Hanson's right to speak saying, "People who demonstrate with violence undermine democracy.

"Any person including Pauline Hanson has the right to be heard - that great injunction of Voltaire was 'I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it'."

Beazley supported Howard's line saying, "Nobody should be subjected to violent demonstrations (in Australia)".

The popular support before Ms Hanson's trip to Tasmania has been demonstrated in a poll taken by the Sunday Tasmanian that reveals that 19.1% of those polled said they would consider voting for One Nation.

"It showed that she was coming to fertile pastures for her and her party," the pollster, Associate Professor Richard Herr said.

More than 70 young Aboriginals from the Wik community - the region at the heart of the native title backlash - are "committing suicide" by sniffing petrol a Queensland state parliamentary commission has been told.

The Cape York communities of Aurukun and Lockhart river are at the centre of the social disaster where 45 to 60 children have become chronic petrol sniffers.

The committee's deputy chirman, Bill D'Arcy (Australian Labor Party MP for Wooodridge), wrote to Prime Minister John Howard expressing his shock, "It doesn't make common sense that we are involved in arguing land rights when the future generation of the Wik community are openly committing suicide."

According to Supt Colin McCallum the district police officer for Cairns the habit was introduced to youngsters on the Lockhart river about eight or nine months ago by a 13 year old Aborigine from central Australia.

Webmaster, GWB

Congratulations on the magnificent Pauline Hanson and Pauline Hanson One Nation home pages. They are outstanding examples of Internet presentation capability, of which you should be proud.

Congratulations on your prompt actions, in locating the hacker who used the University of Melbourne computer in such a dastardly manner! I hope justice is swift, and provides deterrent to future such activity.

An abiding afffection for Australia and Australians started when an RAAF crew in a Catalina PBY-5 flying boat plucked my B-26 Marauder crew and me off a beach in Japanese held territory between New Guinea and New Britain, in April 1942. In recent years this affection has developed into close friendship with surviving members of that RAAF crew, their families and many of their associates. Our friendship is nurtured by lively 2-way correspondence, and my return every two years to attend the group's bi-annual reunion.

It has dismayed me to see Australia's political elite taking the government of your country from the hands of the people, turning you from the governing to the governed in a manner very similar to what has happened in the USA. That is the reason why I see Pauline Hanson and ONE Nation as a shining light pointing to the future of your country again in the people's hands, and make sure that my correspondence encourages my friends and their young offspring to provide active support.

I admire and endorse GWB's expressions of support for Pauline Hanson and ONE NATION.

Sincerely,

Dear Sir,

I would just like to say that Pauline Hanson should be commended on her brave stand against the multitude of rednecks, beatnik students, union organisers, and political thugs.

My wife and I are not racist by any means and agree that everyone should have the same opportunities in life without discrimination.

We live in Noble Park, Vic and for all those foolish narrow minded people who live in select areas and say that Australia does not have any specific problem with any of the races emmigrating here I say have a look at the disgustingly dirty and unhygienic shopping district of Springvale near us and take note of the thuggery, vandalism, organized crime, extortion, and drug dealing that openly occurs in front of your eyes without fear of prosecution.

We sincerely hope that you can brave this storm created by thugs passing themselves off as "the moral majority" and continue your aim to make Australia One Nation to protect the future of our country for the sake of all Australians and especially our children.

Thank you for being brave and selfless enough to say what everyone knows is the truth.

I & T. Douglas

Dear Sir, I am writing to congratulate Pauline Hanson on her brave stand for our wonderful country.

I have been living in Asia (Brunei) for six years now and can look back into my country from the outside. What I see dismays me! We are allowing our unique culture to be swallowed up in the Asian melting pot all for the sake of political expediency. In most Asian countries racism is enshrined in the law and here in Brunei the residents are colour coded by there ID card and treated according to their race or citizenship. Most other Asian countries are the same and are amasingly quiet in the press about this topic. In Brunei I have resident status as long as I have a work contract, I cannot buy or own land and once my work contract is finished I must leave......the Brunei Government protects its country and are to be congratulated. The family unit is strong and crime is minimal. Justice is swift and equal to the severity of the crime. And people live in peace and security because of this.

What you are trying to achieve (ie and equal deal for all Australians REGARDLESS of race (a horrible word, because I believe all people are the the same, they only come from different nations))is long overdue.

Your attack on the dreadful Family Law Act is also to be commended, for it is this very piece of legislation that is destroying our great country by undermining what was once its greatest strength.....the family unit.

You have my support, and should you have a candidate in my electorate when I return to Australia, they will have my vote.

Your Sincerly
John

I wasn't at the launch of this particular meeting, but last night I attended the meeting of the same format in Hobart, Tasmania. I'm presently a student attending Hobart college hoping to go on to Universtity. I'm not an expert on the theories of the One Nation policy. However I am an expert in what I'm feeling and last night I saw the effects of this right wing propaganda. I saw anger and hurt that I had never experienced before in such a large group of people and it brought me to tears. I challenge Pauline Hanson to explain to me what gives her the right to hurt this many people, provoke their anger and pain and then dismiss their reaction as a bunch of screaming hooligans that are out of control. We are not screaming hooligans out of control, we are infact a large body reacting with passion to the disgusting and discrimatory statements that Hanson is voicing to the population with the kind of publicity that her opisition does not have access to. You do not speak for me Pauline and that is one of your biggest problems. I am the youth of Australia and I am also the future of Australia. You have already lost because the control is soon to be passed on to the likes of me. Cease polluting peoples mind I beg you for the sake of the harmonious future of mankind.

Subject: Ms Hanson - One Nation

Hello to all readers.

Based on information I have acquired from the new media and the internet I find many of Ms Hanson's view in conflict with my own thinking on social justice. Just as I find the views of other politicians (Mr Howard, Mr Andrews) in conflict with my own views of social justice.

I would like to say that I believe there is a huge danger in 'absolutisms'. That is, saying you either like or hate, support or oppose absolutely a particular person, party or policy. Supporting anything or anybody absolutely is what I would call a dangerous practice. I would encourage people to look critically at what is occuring - move on from the simple arguments, the slogans, and the media slants, and draw out the central tenets of the issues that are raised.

In short, I believe by reducing complex problems to simplistic debates and offering simple sloganistic solutions we are missing a gigantic opportunity to debate fully and present positive solutions to many pressing issues.

I therefore suggest that this forum and others be used to debate the issues Ms Hanson's raises and other parallel issues in a meaningful and positive manner.

I would be happy to begin.

Thank you

You kept insisting that you are not a racist and only want equality for all and yet in all of your speeches you kept saying that Australia is being swamped by Asians. My question to you is that even if that is true, what's wrong with that? Any country's immigration policy is determined by that country's government and if the Asians who choose to migrate to this country can contribute to its society and economy; then it is good for this country. The important thing here is the migrant's abilities and contributions not their skin colour.

You are obviously a racist and yet does not have the courage to say so. You would have gain more respect from me if you just came out and said so instead of constantly whinning that you are being misquoted by the press.

Michael Yang.

I may agree on perhaps one or two of your views but I totally disagree with the rest of your views and claims. The claims your have made about Asians, Aborigines and immigrants are uneducated, outrageous, false and exagerrated. Your plans to develop a 'white Australia' by isolating us from the rest of the world will end all trade with Asia leaving our country in debt. I see your views as racist and I dare you to go and make your pathetic speeches at suburbs such as Cabramatta and Redfern in Sydney. I'd like to know why you haven`t yet especially since your plans are to end 'ghettos' such as these areas so isn't it about time to have a look at the 'ghettos' you want to end.

Personal trivia, from the global office:

Well the first signs of autumn's arrival are here today with cold temperatures going as low as seven degrees celcius overnight.

Warmer outside now although there is a chilly wind.
