Australian Story

Extracts from trabscript on Australian Story covering Pauline Hanson:

"When I opened up that newspaper and read the story I was devastated because I strictly said to quite a few people why I was doing the story. To actually read the story, after they did the fashion shoot they took the photos, went to different fashion consultants and said 'Would I make a good model'. It had no truth to it whatsoever because I didn't want to be a model I didn't particularly want to do the fashion shoot, (I was trying to help Australian fashion industry). I don't want to be a model, I am a politician."

"I know that I have no come back, I can't do anything I have got my hands tied so what do you do? They control it, they actually control everything."

One Nation press releases on Kurds and desicrating the Australian flag:

Here is an extract from the Kurd release:

One Nation strongly supports freedom of speech and the right to peacefully demonstrate but as soon as people go beyond this and obstruct, or invade private property or exhibit dangerous or violent behaviour, they are going beyond the law and they must be treated accordingly.

It is reported that up to 90 of Sydney's own Kurdish rebels/terrorists smashed their way into the Ansett Australia building around 1am this morning and made their way to the Greek Consulate on the 20th floor.

Here is an extract from the Aboriginals desicrating the Australian flag:

Australians of Aboriginal descent must be subject to the same laws as all other Australians. Their occupation of public land around both the old and the new Parliament House in Canberra must cease immediately.

These people must be dispersed as would happen to any other Australian under the same circumstances. The situation has gone on for too long and must be resolved now.

There is no excuse for their violence, their threats or drunken behaviour, or, for that matter, the continuation of their fires even at times of total fire bans.

Conflict of interest at Brisbane City Council

from Brisbane Web Developers

Thank you for your response, we have not heard from the Brisbane City Council and we don't really expect to. We have enough information to go to the opposition and more of the newspapers. We hear Mr. Greg Baxter did a bit of a dash into Frontpage and removed the 'Preferred Suppliers' mention from the front of his website. Is this enough to satisfy you, it seems to be enough to satisfy the Brisbane City Council.

A conflict of interest is a conflict of interest and it needs to be dealt with. We will continue.

An irrelevant view of One Nation

In reference to Brian McDermott's comments in @notd (18/2/99). First of all, I believe you need to do a bit of a reality check . You mention that 'some say' David Oldfield conned his way into Pauline's 'pants.' Apart from this comment being unnecessary and rather smutty, it is also highly irrelevant. It doesn't interest me one iota to know about PH's and DO's private lives. Unfortunately Brian, you seem to be one of the vultures who is intent on digging dirt wherever it can be dug. Which makes me question your loyalty to ON in the first place.

Good luck with your new Party Brian - Go forth and multiply.

An alternative view of One Nation

Dear Sir,

I took on board all that Mr. McDermott had to say in yesterday's @notd, and then threw up.

If ever there was a person that deserved no recognition for services rendered to his Nation it would have to be this bloke.

The Annual General Meeting of the Brian McDermott Fan Club has been cancelled this due to lack of interest.

"The seat of the soul" by Gary Zukav

Scott I believe Pauline tried to look beyond the self interest of politics to assist this nation to become great in it's own right.

The current batch of so called rulers are so busy spending our tax payers dollars supporting world bank loans to other similarly corrupt governments that we are being pulled down with them. If we were in a greater financial mess than we are now I wonder how many of those countries would help us. besides world banks only prop up governments and other banks. The when they have then wasted that money and filled their own pockets, austerity measures are applied to the people least able to afford it. The average person has no say over where our tax dollars go yet it is they who bear the brunt of the economic burdens caused by those who like to play on the world stage as so called states men and women.

In my view Pauline was a down to earth person who got it right. Maybe her centralised form of control was wrong or to tight. But! where a path is chosen that people want to join then they must also follow that path or take the other opportunity and become independants. It is after all the vision of one person initially that draws the support. If it fails to do that then it is just not palatable to the populace.

Like the Parisee said if it is not of god it will pass. (Symbolic only).

I have just been listening to Oprah because I am on night work at the moment. I do not normally watch the midday programs but there is a book I think you should read that provides an insight into why our senses are bombarded with news and the things of this world. In my view it is an attempt to stop us looking beyond our immediate senses for fear we may see to much.

Education is becoming the catch item of the moment. we must educate and an ever earlier age. This in my mind locks us into the physical world as we know it and does not allow us to look beyond what we are taught.

The book is called "The Seat of the Soul". it is not a religeous document but extremely interesting and an insight into our lives and direction.

A small example. Light spreads infinitisimaly beyond our visual spectrum and yet we are taught to operate within that extremely small frame when so much exists beyond.

Our physical senses only provide a glimpse of what is immediately around us and yet our intuition can often give us a glimpse far beyond the horizon. It is in the interests of the power managers and the financially elite to keep us exactly where we are, for if we see to much we will see their shame and delusion.

Dennis

Hi Dennis

Saw the Oprah Winfrey show and will certainly be reading the book.

From what I heard it matches many of my life experiences exactly...

The news

Sheesh. Now I've seen (or rather heard) it all!

I'm sure JG EStiot has noticed how the reporting on that disgraceful protest by the Kurds has been slanted away from condemning them to condemning us. Yes, apparantly it's all OUR fault that these mongrels halted traffic in Castlereagh Street in Sydney by occupying a building and threatening to burn everything including themselves.

On last night's ABC radio news the story was that it was really our fault because various government agencies and departments didn't notify one another that there MIGHT be trouble after somebody enjoying sanctuary in the Greek embassy in Kenya was extradited to Turkey. Of course. The whole problem was not one of ethnic political demonstrators breaking the law and disturbing the peace in a major way - how prejudiced of me to even think such a thing! No, it was a problem with Australian government communications. Of course.

If you invite people to your home, you don't expect them to start trashing it, and that is what these Kurds have done in so grossly abusing our traditional Australian culture of tolerance and respect for law. I'm sure they have no idea of the depth of our outrage, coming as they do from a land which has been fighting for independence for a long time. While we might respect their fight, they have no right to bring it here. If they feel so strongly about foreign events, let them either protest peacefully according to our Australian culture, or go home and splash around the petrol and threaten to light a match.

As a strong deterrent to others who might be planning similar stunts, particularly in the lead-up to the Olympic Games, the government ought to find a legal way to put them all on the first plane back home.

Race

I would like to congratulate you for bringing the "race" identity to this nations attention. I am of course referring to your interview on ACA when you said that these people need to decide whether or not they are Australian or Kurds, or any other race for that matter, living in Australia. This is a problem with many of the ethnic races living here in Australia, and let me tell you my blood started to boil when that Kurd refereed to the "mother land", if they feel that strongly for this land, why the hell don't they go back there to fight their problems instead of bringing all their problems here and inflicting them upon us.

I must also tell you that I am of Koori descent, and personally I don't have a problem with this party, as all you are trying to do is help Australia regain it's identity, something that has been lost through parties in power worrying more about accommodating our "Asian" neighbours and the refugees, than trying to do something to actually help the people that were born here, and that will die here. These people they do help never think of this country as home, and never class themselves as Australians, yet they are always the first to put their hand out for government support. They are never made to adapt to our ways, instead we help them keep their own ways from "the old country". Sometimes I think the next thing on the major powers list will be to form a republic, something I feel strongly against, and then change the name to Multicultura, as that is the direction they want us to head.

As I mentioned earlier, I am of Koori descent, and I think that if more of the Aboriginal people were to look at how lucky they were the English colonised this land, the better they will be and the closer we will be to forming "One Nation", because I know from my own studies that if the Germans, Dutch, Portuguese or Spanish were to have settled here, there would be NO Aboriginal people left at all.

One Nation received my vote in the last Federal election, and I will continue to support the party until more "Australians" realise that all you are aiming for is a united Australia.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and keep up the good work.

Australian Story

I have just watched Australian story on the ABC and how refreshing to finally see a television program that portrays Pauline HANSON as she really is. I have felt concern that Pauline may decide to give it all away but I say to you Pauline, when the media start to turn on the people who have betrayed you then you can start worrying. I don't believe that a television program, be it 60 minutes or Australian Story will ever do a story on Dorothy Pratt or any of the other Benedict Arnolds that have betrayed you. Real Australians support you and care about you Pauline. The creeps who could be seen demonstrating against you across Australia don't even rate. They are the same collection of no-hopers who attend every demonstration no matter what the cause and are no different to the latest group of Kurd terrorists we are currently seeing on our televisions. You have only just begun to fight, Pauline and as you said on the program this evening learn from your mistakes but don't ever lose sight of the fact that the silent majority support you.

Courier-Mail write up on Australian Story

I was astonished when you said that the ABC was absolutely furious about the lack of ethics and balance displayed by the courier mail.

I think the ABC lost all its ethics and balance years ago. It is rabidly politically correct and hugely biased towards globalisation and multiculturalism.

Australian Story

Just a note to Pauline from a none political animal. Tonights Austalian Story was only the second time I had seen anything positive about her ideas. The other time was on late night talk back with Bob Francis.

I believe she has had a very bad run from the media and wonder if this is a side of the Aussie character of which we should not be proud.

Keep your chin up Pauline, your ideas may at times be a little simplistic but they are on the right track.

Best Wishes
Nick Carter
PS David Etheridge doesn't seem so bad either....but not as sexy!!

Joint Standing Committee

Scott,

I've noticed on the @NOTD and the Australian Daily Issues paper that a reference to a "Joint Standing Committee on Treaties" is made.

The JSC referred to is actually the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters. The JSC on Electoral Matters in asking for public submissions or comments regarding the conduct of the recent Federal Election.

I fail to see how this has anything to do with "Treaties". It is however, an opportunity for Australian Citizens to raise their concerns regarding issues such as the removal of the "Langer Method".

Regards,
Ian Batchelor.

State government seminars

Scott,

I don't know whether you knew about the Beattie Government seminars being held in various areas?

The one held yesterday (Nambour Civic Centre) was a fantastic creative example of DEMOCRACY IN ACTION.

Of course, as Noosa Mayor Bob Abbot said the government office (one in Nambour) and the forums to be set up as a result of these seminars will prove the ultimate success of this approach to OPEN GOVERNMENT accountable and directly involved with THE ELECTORATE - the PEOPLE of Australia.

I would not know if there were any ONE NATION supporters at the seminar - there were 900 there, many more apologised prior commitments - BUT my feeling is that if the Queensland State Government is giving US, the people, this opportunity we should grab it (PARTY MEMBERS, INDIVIDUALS, WHATEVER) with both hands and MAKE SURE THE GOVERNMENT CARRIES OUT THIS VERY NEW, DEMOCRATIC APPROACH TO STATE GOVERNMENT. Our local Mayors (and quite a few councillors - even from Caboolture) were there, involved and seeing DEMOCRACY IN ACTION as well as the overwhelming show of experience, ability, knowledge of the area and THE POLITICAL WILL of the local people.

Perhaps you would like to pass on to ONE NATION members the idea that they attend these seminars - to PARTICIPATE AS INDIVIDUALS - in other areas?

Regards,
Eleanor.

from the global office:

Another perfect day in paradise.

Have a good one.
