International:

A shocking display by radical protesters disrupted a public meeting for supporters of Pauline Hanson's One Nation party. Only 50 supporters out of hundreds who came braved the gauntlet of over 500 screaming hooligans who succeeded in taking over the hall despite a strong police presence.

Andrew Carne, the local One Nation representative, was forced to cancel the meeting after only 15 minutes when the protesters took over the stage.

Andrew Carne told us today,

"The media's reporting of the event was incredibly distorted. The protesters blocked off the car park and even the street leading up to the hall. They blocked the entrance to the hall. They effectively closed the meeting down.

"The one hundred and fifty supporters who did make it had come early - I have already received 200 apologies today from people who were turned away by the protesters.

"When I asked the police to clear the way so that Australian voters who wanted to exercise their democratic right by attending they refused saying that it was a public meeting and the protesters could take the action they did.

"I will be talking to the police today. The protesters stripped the hall taking all the One Nation posters and documents - I arrived with political material for those attending. What wasn't destroyed was stolen.

"An old lady was beaten up by an Aboriginal protester as were many other of my guests. It was mayhem... and the television stations did not report this!"

Guests at the meeting were physically assaulted and verbally abused.

Ms Hanson summed up the criminal activity of the protesters yesterday when she accused the Labor and Liberal parties of supporting the actions and even encouraging the "bullyboys".

This at a time when support for Ms Hanson's One Nation party increased dramatically in the latest News Poll:

Political:

Senator Mal Colston has had enough with his loose alliance with the Coalition party in the Senate and has now threatened to vote with his old party, Labor, when the Senate re-opens for business.

Colston flew from Brisbane to Canberra last night.

"It seems to me if my vote is to count, the only way now is to vote against the government," Colston told the media.

Key issues coming before the Senate include Tuesday's Budget, changes to superannuation and the planned reforms to media ownership.

What is interesting is that Colston said a Publishing and Broadcasting Limited lobbyist, none other than Graham Richardson, had not bothered to lobby him but had concentrated his attention on Independent Senator Brian Harradine.

Oppostion parties would only need Colston's vote to defeat the changes to media ownership.

Wow!

I just read the hate mail and it's bloody scary.

The venom of violence is definitely running through the veins of the authors of that mail.

I noticed not one of them mentioned God. I s'pose they couldn't because God talks about love, fairness, equality, friendship, peace, forgiveness. The list goes on.

I've read Ms Hanson's speeches.
She's cool.

I work in the mining industry and at "Crib" time the conversations have been about Ms. Hanson, lately. We also have a four letter word to describe her.

She is COOL .

Subject: One Nation

Dear Sir

Hmm...Very interesting hate mail. Its quite stimulating to see that people can still make usage a four letter word more then once. Raving psychotic lunatics all looking for some kind of fulfilment and determination to make havoc. I think a trained monkey with crayons has a better chance of expressing his feelings. Uncivilised ill-mannered repulsive fools. They've contemplated that Pauline Hanson is a intolerant bigot, but yet here we have the indigenous inhabitants of Australia saying they're the traditional holders of this country. That's one hell of a allegation to pronounce that you're the legitimate containers of this country. We're talking about land here, not some five dollar raffle. Even the aborigines can't confirm where they originated from, Its common fact. They might belong to this land, but they sure in hell don't OWN it. Nobody owns it. I think that mother nature would be very deeply disturb and agitated to see a proposal of ownership on its head. I suppose oxygen and Carbon dioxide will be up for crabs next? Well...they where the first people to use it...weren't they?

Keep up the good work. You've got more courage then liberal and labour put together. And best of luck with the campaign.

Fred.

Congratulations on a great webpage!!

It's a shame that the large commercial media networks haven't got your integrity.

Maybe you could organise a campaign to send the journalism code of ethics to all of the Packer/Murdoch hacks?:

I'm sure that none of them have ever seen it before!!!

Keep up the good work, I can assure you that it is appreciated.

Thought of the day#1:

Why do the supporters of Affirmative Action always list its failures when attempting to justify its continued existance?

Thought of the Day#2:

(One Nation supporters are capable of more than one thought per day, unlike their political opponents)

If massive immigration is so good for the economy, why hasn't it worked in Australia over the past twenty years?

(A simple question, but no politically correct idealogue can answer it!)

I appeal to you withdraw your support from this most corrupt and damaging movement. Please do your research and test your conscience.

Subject: Pauline Hanson Views

Hi

I sent you an e-mail from Tokyo last year to which you kindly responded. Now I'm sending you one from Los Angeles. I am, however, an Australian from Sydney (and a white one with no hidden agenda).

I certainly respect your freedom to hold you view as regards Pauline Hanson's platform but please, PLEASE, fully analyse the accuracy and viability of what EXACTLY she and those around her are saying before supporting her. To just support the general idea of what she's saying is very dangerous. Blindly following simplistic and isolationist views is how wars start mate, and they are usually based upon false statistics and figures (as in Pauline Hanson's case), just because nobody among the supporters bothers to check up on these numbers.

I am no arty-farty left-winger, I just wish you and other Australians to fully research and understand what precisely you are supporting before you do so.

All the best
Lucas

Subject: The Hansen debate

Dear Ms Hanson,

After having a heated debate last Saturday night about the One Nation's party policies or lack of therein, we were desperate to voice our opinion. We feel that your party represents everything we, as two young Australians, oppose. We are ashamed to have such racist views so blatently presented to society. The steps that the previous ALP worked towards regarding multiculturalism and Aboriginal reconciliation have been in vain.

Your party holds views that are conservative and outdated. Australia represents diverse cultures and lifestyles, this is the essence of Australia. Your comments have pin pointed minority groups leading us to marvel at the similarity of your party to that of the Nazi Party. Your comments juxtapose the name of your party, you say you stand for One Nation yet your racist comments are tearing Australia apart. The Macquarie Dictionary definition of racist involves the idea that one's own race is better than any another. You seem to believe that your race is superior to that of Aboriginals, by your comment that you "Will represent all Australians except Aboriginals", if this is not racist, what is ? Please return our email

Yours Sincerley

Business:

Kerry Packer now faces competition over his bid to take over Fairfax with Channel 7 Managing Director Kerry Stokes set to take him on.

A new consortium called Australian Independent Newspapers (AIN) has been established to take on Packer. Yesterday the consortium, backed by Melbourne-based institutions including Colonial and National Mutual as well as Sydney based AMP lobbied Mr Howard in Canberra yesterday.

They believe that Packer will try to buy Fairfax on the cheap - allowing them to come in with a better cash offer.
