International:

Launch of One Nations' Queensland state policies and candidates meet the press.

Yesterday I was delighted to be invited to join the candidates at a media conference held at the Albert Park Hotel in Brisbane.

All the commercial television stations were there and covered the event in last night's news - as did the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The "multicultural" station SBS continued with its bigoted "head in sand" approach and did not even come to see what was going on... it's called balanced reporting - last night SBS found fireworks to be more news worthy... maybe this is a forecast of a change coming to that station when Hanson holds the balance of power?

In the picture on the right the first four One Nation candidates with Pauline Hanson (left to right) are:

Arthur Hickman (Sunnybank); Heather Hill (Ipswich); Dorothy Pratt (Barambah) and Ian Petersen (Gympie).

Quote of the day came from The Australian's young female "political" journalist who had to ask what David Oldfield looked like!

The event is covered with more images on the official One Nation 1998 Queensland State Election website.

Yesterday Queensland's law and order Minister Denver Beanland called Hanson's Law and Order policy "yesterday's fish and chip wrapper" - guess that's the political fate awaiting him!

MAI (multilateral agreement on investment) Timelines

Some of you may already be aware of the OECD's timeline this autumn, but I thought it might be worth an update. FYI the OECD routinely meets the third week of every month.

FEBRUARY: Negotiators assess their work thus far, consider all outstanding reservation issues and determine if the MAY deadline is realistic. US and Canadian negotiators have indicated to various representatives of NGOs that if there is going to be a suspension of the MAY deadline, it will be determined at this time. If you have heard similar or conflicting news in your country - I would appreciate a report!

MARCH: Further negotiations

APRIL: Negotiators intend to have the agreement, including any unresolved issues with country specific reservations, complete and ready for approval in May.

MAY: Annual OECD ministerial meeting & scheduled completion date for the MAI. If the MAI is indeed approved at this time, the next step will be to send the complete agreement to each government for their unique systems of ratification.

If we hope to derail the MAY deadline, we need to create a lot of noise between now and then. Talk to your communities, government representatives, local newspapers and radio stations. I can always provide you with sample letters, talking points and other tools to get you started.

News Limited's Sunday Mail strike out again - so what else is new!

Today's Sunday Mail is a classic in selective reporting.

Do you recall the headline a few weeks ago "Sexy Pauline"? A front page beat-up about Pasquarelli's new book and Pasquarelli's comments...

Today the important policy launch by One Nation covered in all reputable media has been totally overlooked by this trashy weekly. The front two pages are devoted to a policeman putting the boot into a teenage boy after he was captured after leading the police on a lengthy high speed car chase during which a policeman on a motorcycle was injured.

Of course the boy's crime and risking human life in the car is of no concern - however the annoyance of a policeman who thought his colleague might have been killed is now on the block for the incident.

Other classicly important stories on Australia include two pages on the Spice Girls in Australia, Jo Beth leaving Channel Nine, full page 11 story on Paul Hogan - you get the drift. A trash magazine like "People" not a newspaper at all.... that's just the guise.

Of course the reporting in this paper is anything but accurate as well... as we have revealed many times before.

Subject: re letter from paul Jones

I had to drop out of university (law) because I couldn't afford the text books.

I would like to see the document Paul refers to. Any chance of putting it in your publication?

Come to think of it, why hasn't this document been tabled in federal parliament and, considering our government and the opposition keep bleating about equality, why hasn't Pauline asked questions about it?

Advance Australians Where?

Australian’s all sit up take note,
We are all in deep despair,
Our countries falling all apart,
As multinationals take a share.

Our politicians do not care,
As they rub their hands with glee,
They tear apart this once great land,
Where once our speech was free.

Taking our independent rights,
Bending our constitutional rules,
Turning out all Australia’s lights,
Treating us like total fools.

The one’s we trusted with the job,
With Australia’s interest first,
Instead they serve their parties whim,
History will shows they ruled worst.

It is time we took hold of the reins,
Its time we took some stands,
Electing leaders we can trust,
Return Australia to our hands.

Australia for all Australian’s,
This is what our leaders swear,
But their actions show a different view,
Advance Australia WHERE?

Using Sir Winston Churchill’s words, “If we should fail, then we would sink into the abyss of a, New Dark Age.

Personal trivia, from the global office:

Another beautiful day in paradise.

Scattered showers but warm.

Have a good one.
