What the "professional" Australian journalists say about (Australian) News of the Day

International:

Prime Minister John Howard expressed disbelief over the High Court's decision to "rewrite the law" in Australia. His concerns stem from the decision yesterday by the High Court on a 3-4 vote to allow Native Title ownership to co-exist with Pastoral leases.... an event that famers and miners had been assured could not happen.

Howard will be meeting with State leaders early in the new year to look at how this legal milestone can be addressed. There is talk of Parliament reversing the court decision through the passing of amendments to the Native Title Act in Parliament.

The Charles Mannington mystery.

A major announcement:
I am pleased to announce that the first public meeting on Christian Technology will be held as follows:

Date: Sunday 12th January 1997, 10am
Venue: Westside Christian Community, Sinnamon Rd. Jindalee (near Jindalee Hotel) Topic: Christian Technology - the solution to Internet Evil
Speaker: Charles W. Mannington, PhD, FRABA

Apologies about the change of date. This has been necessitated by Christmas and New Year services taking precedence. I hope that this meeting will provide the opportunity for me to meet you all in person at last.

Wishing you all a Happy and Holy CHRISTmas.

Charles M.
