International:

The bodyguard of former master conman Christopher Skase has revealed how he helped the lout get his ill-gained valuables out of Australia in a large semi-trailer. Skase has always denied having any wealth in his attempt to escape facing the Australian bankruptcy laws. The trailer was safely shipped from Australian shores in January 1991 carrying a bounty of treasures including artworks, antiques and jewellery worth millions of dollars.

Jones, the bodyguard, says that he like so many other Australians, was conned by Skase and would never work for him again.

Had an interesting call from a News Limited journalist yesterday. It appears that the person involved gets paid so badly that the journalistic work is given a very low priority so that "some real money can be earned" to support the family! So that's how Murdoch makes his money - I would never have guessed!

Actually we have had a number of Australian journalists contacting us by email requesting part-time positions in this electronic paper.

Personal trivia, from the global office:

Still wet outside - but a welcome break from the heat of the last few weeks!

Have a great day!
