As the world gets to be a smaller place and eletronic gadgetry and telecommunications bridge the geographic boundaries between developed nations, it leaves us wondering whether the unexplored frontiers of the future might not be the third world of today?

Political:

It is a pleasure to leave this section blank today.

Business:

Unemployment is expected to rise next year to about 9%. This will make the Federal Government's target of 5% unemployment by the year 2000 nearly impossible.

Sport:

The Sydney to Hobart yacht race starts tomorrow. Sponsored by Telstra who have an excellent web site which includes live pictures from the boat Sayonara on which media tycoon Rupert Murdoch will be sailing.

Social:

From us in Australia we take this opportunity to wish you all well over the Christmas period wherever you may be and for all Australians abroad either on holiday or for other reasons a special wish that you might return safely.
