International:

Well, the CRA dispute with the ACTU is all the talk in Aussie. We are now blocaded with the waterfront shut down and with the coal miners poised to go out on strike. Imagine what they would do if they could get their hands on our bandwidth. The innocent victims of the trade unions actions are thousands of workers who are losing their jobs over this issue. (See archived news over last few days.)

Political:

The Greens have supported the Lberal party in the senate saying that Lying (MCPE) Lawrence should foot her own legal bills. Right on- stick with it, let's put a bit of guts back into our political system.

Business:

The APEC meeting in Osaka, Japan seems to be going quite well with our Prime Minister saying that "he is over there to bang a few nails in the wall" (to get trade deals tied up).

Sport:

Pakistani Mushtaq Ahmed test cricket's "smallest" bowler (spin) took the Aussies down a peg yesterday claiming 5 wickets for 115. The Aussies were all out for 267. At stumps on the first day Pakistan were 2 for 33.

Social:

Well its "schoolies week" - the week the school leavers go on their traditional rampage at the Gold Coast. An official schoolies alert is now active...

Personal trivia:

Beautiful soaking rain yesterday the Brisbane river slopes are covered in a magnificent coat of lush green grass. It has cleared up a bit today after soaking rains last night. We had to feel sorry for about 30 campers who have set up a weekend retreat on the flat bank opposite our home. It musty have been a wet night!
