International:

Sport:

The Australian Rugby League, sadly depleted by Murdoch's Superleague, has itself been challenged to show its loyalty by supporting the Gold Coast Seagulls team which need $3million to survive next season.

Social:

Australia's level of foreign debt (nearly Au$200 billion) is hitting home loan rates currently running at about 10%. If the debt level was lower experts say that the rate would be only about 6%.

Personal trivia:

Up early this morning, it is now just after 5am Eastern Standard time. The first rays of daylight have already cast their morning spell on the valley, with the mist thickening now dispersing.
