International:

Many months ago now Australia's richest man, Kerry Packer, had over Au$5 million in gold lifted from a safe in his Sydney office. It now appears that the gold is on the move to Asia. Seems like gold "of unknown heritage" is being peddled in large quantities.

Political:

The Labor party have formerly taken away Graeme Campbell's endorsement. The fiery and outspoken politician is outraged. Should make an interesting lead up to next year's Federal Election - especially with Lying (MCPE) Lawrence chirping from the wings!!

Business:

National Australia Bank has announced that from March next year they will drop their bank fees for battlers. There are heaps of conditions involved of course, but it is a step in the right direction from the bank which is expected to make Au$ 2 billion profit this financial year.

Sport:

New Zealand golfer Frank Nobilo leads the field with a first round 64 in the first round of the Greg Norman Holden Classic at The Lakes.

Social:

The cinema remains the most popular cultural activity for all ages of Australians a national survey of attendances at a dozen types of cultural venues has confirmed.

Personal trivia:

Yesterday was a blinder. Another day in the high 30 degrees C. My global office became an oven - luckily I had business in Brisbane and was able to escape and enjoy the scenic drive through the Moggil Hills to the city, and then later, a pleasant meal with my family at a small Italian restaurant in the Northern Suburbs.
