The 20 year old Heiner Affair -
illegal shredding of documents and subsequent cover-up by the Queensland State Government

Note: This is the original website exposing the blatant politised corruption of Queensland's Public Administration - the Legislature, the Executive, the Judicary - under successive Labor Governments resulting in the break down of the fundamental framework of the rule of law. (The "rule of law" is based on the simple philosophy that every person should be treated equally under law regardless of their position). This web site has been online since 1996 and directly resulted in the publisher facing a political arrest in 1999. It has been quoted in Federal Government enquiries and caused the Labor Government in Queensland ongoing headaches. This website will not go away until the rule of law applies in Queensland. As recently as 2007 News Ltd tried to defame the publisher of this website while trying to belittle whistleblower, Kevin Lindeberg, because of their relentless pursuit of justice.

Quotable quote: Where recordkeeping ends, corruption begins.

The late Sir Harry Gibbs GCMG, AC, KBE, QC, former Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia.

Sir Harry Gibbs (pictured right), in his capacity as President of The Samuel Griffith Society, in 2005 argued that a prima facie offence existed against all those who were involved in the 1990 shredding of the Heiner Inquiry documents to prevent known use as evidence in foreshadowed judicial proceedings. His argument was based on the enduring principles upon which the rule of law stands i.e. equality before the law, ignorance of the law not being an excuse, and that the law should be applied consistently and predictably in materially similar circumstances.

In upholding these democratic principles without fear or favour, public confidence is maintained in government and thereby dissuades aggrieved citizens from taking the law into their own hands. It is called "government by the rule of law, not of men."

Section 129 of the Criminal Code (Qld) - destruction of evidence - provides that: "Any person who, knowing that any book, document, or other thing of any kind, is or may be required in evidence in a judicial proceeding, wilfully destroys it or renders it illegible or undecipherable or incapable of identification, with intent thereby to prevent it from being used in evidence, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment with hard labour for three years."

Successive Queensland Labor Governments have refused to listen to Gibbs and other eminent Judges. WHY?
