International:

Australia are scooping more medals in the Olympics... in fact they have now beaten their previous best performance. In the men's tennis doubles the Woodies backed up their Wimbledon win with an Olympic gold.

With the current nine gold, nine silver and twenty bronze Australia has much to be proud about - and the Australian media much to answer for with their damning coverage in the early days of the games. Australia is currently in a solid seventh position after the US with 36 (gold); Russia 23; China 16; France 15; Germany 14; and Italy 11.

Sport:

Its all happening at the Atlanta Olympic Games.

Global Gripe of the day:
