    of $5,000 or $3,000 if family income is less than $25,000

    Income of (100% - 125%): 36,037 - $45,032
  • Lend 60% of purchase price of house
  • Income of (125% - 150%): 45,033 - $54,080
  • Lend 45% of purchase price of house
  • The following interest rates apply:

  • 3% (income of $25,000 or less)
  • 5% ($25,000 or more)
  • 8% (housing extensions or renovations)
  • 8% (housing related expenditure)
  • 5% (refinancing of house loans)
  • 5% (loans for property settlements)
  • 11.5% (on properties currently leased)

  • Previous borrowers from the ATSIC scheme are charged a rate of interest less than their previous rate.

    In 1993-94, ATSIC programs of Home Ownership, Community Housing, Payment to House Fund, and Community Infrastructure cost $230.7M. In 1994-95 the figure was $217.5M.
