Background:

Merv was born and educated in Waikerie and spent his childhood on the family farm

Personal:

Merv and his wife Judy have been married for 36 years. They have three adult children and seven grand children.

Experience:

After leaving school, Mervyn worked on the family farm until it was sold. He was then employed by a large corporate vineyard where he held the position of foreman for eight years.

Merv's practical skills led him into the field of structural engineering, where he has owned and operated a business for thirty years. Diversification of this family business has seen it develop into a service station, general store and caravan park.

Community Service:

Mervyn is a Justice of the Peace, and has served on the local Council for the last eleven years. He also serves on twelve committees associated with local government. This community involvement has given Merv much valuable knowledge of the issues affecting ordinary Australians.

Why One Nation?

Merv has become disillusioned with contemporary politicians because they seem disinterested in the issues that affect the people who are the heart and soul of Australia.

He is honoured to have been selected to stand as a candidate for Pauline Hanson's One Nation, as he believes that Pauline is saying what a great number of people have been thinking for a long time.

Merv says "Pauline is a people's person and that's what I want to be, someone who listens to the people of Australia, and who will work tirelessly to ensure that all Australians are treated equally."
