Senate, South Australia:

Candidate: Malcolm Rumbelow

Contact: PO Box 821, Goolwa SA 5214

Background: Malcolm was born in 1954, is married with two teenage children and has lived all his life in the Victor Harbor area. He was educated at the Victor Harbor Primary and Secondary schools, leaving to take up an apprenticeship as a carpenter and joiner.

Experience: On completing his apprenticeship, Malcolm became a partner in the family carpentry business. The family also operated a cray and shark fishing vessel. After ten years in the family businesses, Malcolm spent a short while as a local government building inspector. He spent the next eleven years working as a building supervisor and a self-employed building sub-contractor.

Malcolm and his wife, Carolyn, then bought and operated a small delicatessen in Victor Harbor. After four years, they purchased a take-away chicken shop, which is their current business.

Community Service: Malcolm has had a close association with local sporting clubs, and is a life member of the Encounter Bay Football Club. He has been a member of the Victor Harbor Yacht Club for two decades, and is a member of the Victor Harbor and Goolwa Sea Rescue Squadron, of which he has been both a Squadron Leader and Commodore. Malcolm has been a delegate on the Volunteer Marine Rescue of S.A. Committee, and has served on the committees of many other local clubs.

He is a Justice of the Peace, and is proud of his involvement with the South Coast communities.

Why One Nation? Malcolm became involved with Pauline Hanson’s One Nation because he believes that our current politicians are not catering to the needs of many Australians. He believes that many of our politicians have lost touch with reality and have no interest in the average person’s battle to survive in today’s harsh economic climate. Malcolm sees Pauline Hanson’s One Nation as a real alternative, with a down to earth approach, not pandering to multinationals and minority groups, and having the policy of looking after Australians first.

He believes it is imperative that, as a nation, we take steps to reign in both Labor and Liberal and make all politicians more accountable to their electorates, and to deliver policies that will actually help each and every one of us.
