John was born in Alexandria, Egypt and arrived in Australia when he was sixteen months old. His mother was Greek/Bulgarian; his father an Australian born in Yorkshire. His parents were proud Australians and instilled in John his concern for people of all nationalities, a belief in the importance of the family and a love of music. John is proud of his ancestry and keen to demonstrate to the people of Lowe that Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party appreciates and encourages the contribution made by immigrants to Australia and welcomes all Australians to join with it in a common aim for a more equitable society.

John was raised in Sutherland Shire and later lived in Concord and then Burwood where he attended Homebush Boys' High School. Frequent trips to visit his grandparents at Young gave John a love of the Australian bush and after leaving school he spent some time jackerooing followed by seven years working as a woolclasser in the shearing sheds of outback Queensland and New South Wales.

Since then John has owned and run retail plant nurseries in Forbes, Frenchs Forest, Belrose and Bayview and is currently the owner/manager of a retail business in the Sydney CBD. He is a strong believer in Reward for Effort and is keen to lessen the demands placed on small business by Governments, bureaucracy and banks etc. He is a forceful advocate for small business and vigorously opposes the unfair market power exercised by major retailers and owners of today's large shopping complexes.

The qualities that make John a remarkable candidate for Lowe are the same which he has demonstrated throughout his professional life: tenacity, honesty, the capacity for hard work, a profound desire to help the community, an insistence on commonsense over theory and a fierce sense of justice, fair play and unity. He is fervently anti-racist!

John believes we can all regain control over our lives by enlightening Canberra as to our desires regarding our futures. He also subscribes to the school of thought which believes that if it's good for the general population it's also good for Australia and therefore also good for each individual Australian. "This country should not be marked by division and self interest." He says, "My desire is to see Australia united, once again as ONE NATION composed of all races."
