Comment in the Weekend Australian - Review:
"Pauline's People"
Saturday May 17th, 1997

Introductory dialogue:

"Pauline Hanson's rhetoric has managed to split the nation like few issues since the Vietnam war. Are her followers racist right-wingers, misguided or misinformed? Who are the Australians backing a woman condemned by politicians from all sides?"

Extract from article by Nicholas Rothwell re hacking:

"The designer of the Hanson web site is almost tearing his hair out: his Net pages have been hacked into overnight and disfigured by someone using a staff computer at the University of Melbourne."

Web developer's comment on the above statement:

I distance myself completely from the above statement. It is factually incorrect:

  1. The reporter never contacted me to get the facts... he interpreted the story in his own fashion.
  2. The hacker hacked in during the day - and was caught "red handed".
  3. I did not "almost pull out my hair" - I immediately reported the incident to the Internet Service Provider.
  4. The hacker did not "disfigure our net pages", he hacked in and continued to change the counter back to 0.
