Background:
Michael has lived on acreage in Mansfield since 1986. He is well qualified with the problems imposed on people suffering under the “koala policy”. The injustice of not being able to clear unsuitable scrub and the heavy rate burden of paying for land over which you have no control. Michael cares for his community including the native fauna and flora, which he believes can be managed to the benefit of all.
As an educationalist Michael believes strongly in an education system which will teach our young people the ability to adapt to the changing needs of our society.
Michael started his working life as a painter and decorator and then worked for her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace. He started his own successful business in England. Later in life Michael chose to pursue an academic career in Australia.
From a humble working class background Michael displays the ability to inspire young and old to new levels of achievement.
Civic Responsibilities:
Michael serves the community as a qualified Justice of the Peace. He is also a member of the Brisbane Metropolitan Lions Club. In this capacity he is the co-ordinator of the Brisbane City Mission. Every week you will find Michael serving food to the homeless people of Brisbane. He has taught English as a second language on a voluntary basis in the community.
Health and disabilities:
As a person with some mobility problems Michael is all too aware of the difficulties people have in their daily lives. Michael is pleased with the neighbourhood shopping centre, Garden City, which has a “Shop Mobility” scheme for the mobility impaired.
Support for One Nation:
Michael’s reason for joining One Nation is as follows: As an immigrant of this country 12 years ago he came for a better way of life. He came for a better standard of living - he has watched as the average Australian’s lifestyle has been diminished by minority groups and foreign businesses. All this aided by Liberal and Labor politicians.
He thinks the Liberals would sell the “ten Commandments” as the ten suggestions. He believes when the Labor party dropped the “U” out of LABOUR they were dropping the “YOU” the Australian voters from decision making.
Pauline Hanson has had the guts to stand up for Australia and the way of life that Michael came here to support.
