Launch of state policies -
10th January 1998

Story and opinions expressed - Scott Balson.

In the early afternoon on a perfect summer day Pauline Hanson's One Nation launched their policy platform for the upcoming Queensland State elections at the Albert Park Hotel in Brisbane.

All the commercial channels came to the launch - as did ABC - once again SBS (the mulicultural television station) was a noteable absentee to such an important occasion.

Quote of the day went to the young female political journalist representing Australia's only national newspaper - News Limited's The Australian. She asked Darryll Wheeler, who was co-ordinating the media, what David Oldfield looked like. Obviously an astute and informed political commentator - I can't wait to see what she has to say about One Nation!

Below are further images taken at the press conference:

(For the lady from The Australian David Oldfield is in the picture third from the right - the fellow on Pauline Hanson's (the lady in the white) left.... ooops maybe I confused you
