Shooting the messenger

There is a poster above my desk which reads "To my number one supporter Scott, Love Pauline Hanson 16-1-98".

It is a treasured posession and one which reflects thousands of hours worked (including weekends) in the best interests of the party.

So what has changed?

I certainly haven't. My dedication for the issues and the beliefs that One Nation members and hundreds of thousands , perhaps millions of Australians believe in remain the same.

@notd readers will be aware that I resigned my position as party webmaster last week after I had the temerity to challenge David Oldfield over issues that have caused a grand exodus of support from the party. I realised the risks in doing this but was willing to take that risk because we are now reaching a watershed.

With the appeal against One Nation's deregistration in Queensland coming up in just two weeks time the party's membership remain blissfully unaware of the ramifications on the entire party if this appeal is lost. Why is this so?

My move to form TIAF , and approach to Pauline Hanson to participate, was carefully considered. This provides Australians, who are concerned about the same issues, a place to sit down and discuss them freely in an apolitical forum. It will hold its first meeting with editors and political parties in Brisbane this Friday unfortunately without Hanson. TIAF was established to provide new impetus in the event that the appeal is lost on November 23rd. In a letter from Pauline Hanson Support Movement founder, Bruce Whiteside, readers will see some very valid concerns and questions being raised.

I trust that David Ettridge will answer them.

Bruce Whiteside, as I have found out, is not a "nutter" as has been claimed by some One Nation members. He is, rather like Hanson, being eroneously labelled - and I rightfully question WHY. Sadly it was Whiteside who provided the foundation for the formation of One Nation. And this is the way we as a party have thanked him.... we should hang our heads in shame.

I have heard that One Nation is to set up its own independents forum - parroting my move to set up TIAF. Why was this not done years ago? In a letter below David Ettridge sets out his case and I am delighted to now have the involvement of One Nation's National Director in this debate.

While I have not resigned from One Nation and do not intend to I have heard through the grapevine that I am about to be expelled by David Ettridge and could be banned from attending One Nation meetings.

If the party makes this move I will never join it again while the current structure remains in place.

I will be another messenger shot in the back for daring to raise questions which have, for too long, been swept under the carpet.
