The Prosper Australia rally.

Today's weekly joke, known by some as The Sunday Mail, reported that there were only 500 people at the Prosper Australia rally. There were over 1,000 - some of the crowd can be seen in the picture on the right. Of course lies and deception go hand in hand with this News Limited publication.

The crowd inside enjoyed the music of the RSL Memorial Pipers Band (left above) and the singing of John Roberts who had also sung at the Gold Coast rally.

When Pauline Hanson arrived there was spontaneous applause for Australia's bravest politician.

She sat for a while we all listened to a number of speakers who discussed historical issues related to the ANZAC spirit.

After the pre-Hanson speeches Reg Bishop from the Ipswich Branch of One Nation carried the Australian flag around the hall in front of the RSL Memorial Pipers.

Hanson spoke on several issues and was cheered and applauded right through her speech.

She singled out the protesters saying, "The movement behind the rabble out here today honed their skills abusing and assaulting our Diggers as they returned to what should have been a hero's welcome (from the Vietnam war).

"They (the protesters) were a rabble of mindless creatures who did not deserve to be called Australians - and not unlike their modern day counterparts who have turned out to attack the decent ordinary Australians who chose to come here and listen today.

"You can be certain the various communist groups and their allies in the ACTU have been doing this for a long time."

After her speech David Oldfield spoke about the mindless rabble outside calling them night creatures and saying that the reason that only 300 turned up was because the majority were still asleep... even though it was after midday.

He said that not even Jim Soorley could pull the sort of crowd that had come to the rally to hear Ms Hanson speak and he went on to predict that the newspapers would distort numbers... a prediction which came true - of course!

Pauline Hanson and David Ettridge (One Nation national director) sat side by side listening to the Oldfield speech which was well received by the large crowd in the Hall.

Pauline Hanson was presented with a poem and a bouquet of flowers by the Hervey bay contigent on One Nation. This region already has over 250 signed up members and 10 branches with 3 more being opened next week.

Following the speeches the media pounced on Pauline Hanson for comment. She was asked about the protesters and made no apology for her views on them... and why should she?

All in all it was a splendid afternoon marred only by the louts outside... but they had left when we went home early.

We did not stay for the Annual General Meeting because I had received a threatening call from a man who identified himself as "Barry" an Aborigine who lived on a mission in Ipswich. "Barry" had said that he knew where I lived and would come visiting after saying that he hated Pauline Hanson supporters.
