Membership of The City Country Alliance

3 January 2000

Dear One Nation Member / Former Member.

Much has been achieved since we all came together out of concern for the future of our great Nation.

Our members of parliament have been absolutely outstanding. They have stood firm under tremendous pressure and have resolutely supported every facet of our policies and philosophies. They have introduced an unprecedented number of Private Member Bills into parliament to give a greater voice to the people, to preserve traditional family values, and to ensure a safer and fairer society.

They have had considerable success in halting the ruthless march of the destructive National Competition Policy and economic rationalist policies. Unfortunately our numbers could not prevent the introduction of legal brothels or the Land Vegetation Act.

In short, they have forced a major about face in the policy direction of both the Labor Government and the Coalition. This change of direction is the first small step in curtailing the influence of big business and multinationals, and it empowers rural and regional Queenslander's and small business operators. It spells increased security for our elderly and increased opportunities for Queensland families.

However, since Pauline Hanson's One Nation has been de-registered, our parliamentary team has been hamstrung. It is imperative that we correct this vulnerable position and allow them to continue to fight for the ideals that bought us all together.

Accordingly, we sought to register One Nation Queensland, but this met with abuse and threats of legal action from Manly. This was most unfortunate because we made a real effort to come up with a method of achieving registration with as little disruption as possible. The adversarial approach adopted by Pauline Hanson's One Nation head office has eliminated the opportunity to continue with the One Nation name.

We have therefore applied to register "City, Country Alliance (Qld)" to allow us to continue our political fight in Queensland and we cordially invite you to join us.

The "Alliance" is not a fan club. The power in this organisation is not at the top. It will be in the branches, and will be derived from the grassroots members. This is a serious political movement determined to reinforce traditional family values, uphold our national sovereignty and address the real issues that plague the ordinary citizen.

The INTERIM executive comprises the five members of parliament, Ian Peterson as Director, Heather Hill as Secretary and Graham MacDonald as Treasurer. All positions will be declared vacant at the first AGM.

By popular request, membership Number #1 is open for tender. Membership #2 to #9 are available for $500, 10 - 30 at $250 and 31 - 100 at $100.

Normal memberships are:

Pensioner and Self-Funded Retirees: -

Any current unexpired membership with One Nation will be transferable pro rata at no cost. The renewal date for all membership of the Alliance is 1st March 2001 and March 1st there after.

Gympie:

Our first branch was opened at Gympie with approximately 50 members and many more will form within the next few weeks.

We have been swamped with inquiries and support from throughout Queensland, and have also have received hundreds of calls from every State in Australia. It is our intention, though, that our organisation will be strictly State based, and branch orientated. Affiliation with other States will be considered later, along with affiliation with a National body, which would be minimalist and have no power other than, that required to perform a co-ordinating role.

Membership Application forms will be available from 8.30am tomorrow. I sincerely hope you will join us in the fight to secure a future for our children. If you have any queries please feel free to contact any members of the Interim Committee.

Yours faithfully,

Heather Hill

Party Secretary
