Redcliffe One Nation branch closes

25th January 2000

51 people attended the Redcliffe public meeting chaired by Clive Cook.

Five speakers were invited - Pauline Hanson, Len Harris, Bill Feldman, Heather Hill and Ian Petersen. Pauline and Len did not respond to the invitation or show up.

Heather Hill and Ian Petersen responded saying that they could not attend.

Bill Feldman MLA attended and was well received although two men seated in the front row called on Clive Cook to "evict the white ant".

Cook said that under no circumstances would he ask Mr Feldman to leave as this was a public meeting and if the two men continued to interrupt it they would be asked to leave.

Those who attended the meeting wanted answers and they got answers. Thank you Bill Feldman. Question time seemed endless but it was worthwhile.

Mention was made of Pauline's response to people who did not renew their membership - "We don't want the - good riddance to them..."

The vote to stay with One Nation was overwhelmingly lost.
