I attended the Hervey Bay meeting of Pauline Hansons One Nation at Torquay on Sunday the 16 January 1999. The meeting was convened by the local executive to give the members and interested visitors an insite into what happened with the registration of the new City Country Alliance. Two members of the Whale City One Nation Branch tried to come into the meeting but were turned away. Bill Feldman & David Dalgleish were the invited guest speakers who gave the members and visitors the background of events, all who attended were disgusted at what had transpired between the executive in Manly & Pauline Hanson against the State MP's . I counted about 65 people at the meeting, of these there were about 40 registered One nation members there. Chairman Alastair Lang, after Bill Feldman had spoken, called for a motion from the floor to close the Hervey Bay Branch of Pauline Hanson's One Nation and transfer any remaining funds to the Maryborough Branch. Alastair called for anyone to speak against this, nobody did, and the motion was carried by all members with no votes against or obstaining. So the Hervey bay branch was closed down and the meeting was closed. A meeting was then called for Saturday 22.1.2000 to form a Hervey Bay Branch of the new CCA party.
