New Indy Site for Japan in 1995?

I was fortunate to catch Andrew Craig, President and Chief Executive Officer of the IndyCar Championship in the 39,498 bytes media centre at about midday.

Last week Andrew was in Japan looking at a new track about 100 km North of Tokyo. This Honda owned track at Motegi is currently under development and being considered for inclusion as a spot for the IndyCar series from next year.

"This will provide extra support for the Surfers Paradise event," said Andrew, "as the two events can be run in sequence."

Andrew went on to say that his ambition is to find a site in Europe and made the point that although IndyCar is essentially a North American series it boasts the best world wide series schedule of any motor racing event.

Also seen in the media centre were Adam Saal, Director of Public Relations and Chris Nixon, Public Affairs Manager, IndyCar Australia.(53,782 bytes) Left to Right Adam Saal, Andrew Craig and Chris Nixon.
