Racing Career:

1972 to 1984 - Raced Karts.

1985 - Won 125cc Colorado Supercross Motorcycle championship. Competed in Formula Ford.

1986 - Raced in Formula Ford, Formula Vee and CanAm series.

1987 - Competed in Canadian American Thundercar Series and Formula Vee.

1988 - Won six out of eight AIS events to take championships.

1989 - Scored two poles and three wins in AIS. Passed USAC and CART rookie tests.

1990 - Entered six events in rookie year. Finished thirteenth in IndyCar debut at Portland. Scored one PPG point with twelfth place finish at Vancouver.

1991 - Started ten events. Raced for Dale Coyne Racing at six events. Todd Walther Racing at one event. Hemelgarn-Byrd at one event. Walker/Hermelgarn at one event and Dale Coyne-Hermelgarn at one event. Qualified twenty third at Indy, finished thirty third after lap one turn one crash. Finished ninth at Denver, eleventh at Cleveland. Ranked twenty second in PPG points.

1992 - Started fifteen of sixteen events missing only New England. Scored points in three races including career high seventh at Marlboro 500.

1993 - Started ten events including Indianapolis 500 where he finished nineteenth. Finished fourth in Camel Lights class at Daytona 24 Hours.

1994 - Started seven races for Leader Card Racing with a top finish of thirteenth at Phoenix. Attempted to qualify at Indianapolis but was unable to make the field. Struggled with outdated equipment and limited funding. Moved to the Project Indy team this year.
